Reasons why Weavile and Wailord are made for each other:
    • Wailord's attack does a pathetic 60. With x special darkness attached, you're doing 60+10x which is decent damage and can reach boundaries
    • Dark engage means free retreat with moonlight stadium, something that is problematic for Wailord.
    • Rushing energies onto Wailords means you can swarm with them and makes that attack much easier to reach.
    • You get a pair of high HP and low HP that just seems "right". All the buffer piece and such you want to help Weavile also help Wailord.
    • Two stage 1s is quicker than a stage 2 line.

Basically, you can keep up the flow and spam wailord all over the place without nrg issues.

It's my birthday tommorrow but after that I'll work on a list.

wailord's attck costs [wwwc], you're gonna go through all the trouble just to put one dark on it?

Did anyone ever say this deck WOULDNT work?

Even if all you do it 4 for 80(2 special darks) its impossible to OHKO, and you keep healing yourself. And then even after they ko one of your Wailords, you have another one right after it. The only problem is speed and consistancy.

Err, I still think its a good deck. But I thought it was [WWCC] not [WWWC]

Actually, the more I think about it, no, this wouldn't work. Weavile just wont cut it. Theres much better choices...

Yes, but Weavile can't get anything except (D) Energies. Plus, Wailord can already have a free Retreat; Holon WP and (P) Energies.

Weavile hardly worked for Blissey which uses anything... what makes you think it will work for something that uses :water::water::water::colorless:?

    nope.

And then Gallade comes and does 150.

Holon's Castform can solve the problem of the attack cost...
Then again, starting with it would be bad.
Where's Holon Electrode when you need it? =(

gallade unfortunately can do 150 to this version of wailord, because you'll never fit a wp onto it as well as the darkness,

castform can make this combo pretty ok but i'm just worryed about how it loses it's only advantage against gallade (high hp that, if played right, isn't at risk of sonic blade)

BTW burninating torchic, it's cool that you posted that idea the same time as me and that you quoted me but... are you dissing me? lol

Maybe a Darkrai Lv X tech as well so you can also have Basic Dark energy add damage?

I might try it with Blastoise just to see what happens.

Even having that single Holon WP on Wailord saves it from a LOT of trouble. While primarily defending it against Sonic Blade, it also prevents attacks that inflict Special Conditions (anything other than Sleep would be bad) and other attacks that place damage counters. 60 damage is not a lot, granted, but Wailord being a 200HP tank is very interesting and I think has possibilities.

    including sableye, who mocks wailord

but no, seriously i don't want to be dissed, especially over the internet where i can't physically do anything about it,

Ah, Sableye, retreat Wailord for free with (P) Energy, bring up a new one, attack.

    TODDakaESTEBAN New Member

yeah sableye isn't a guarentee against anything really,

Wailord takes 3 water and 1 colorless....why would this idea work?

    TODDakaESTEBAN New Member

i think i just realized that sableey does work because if you have 5 energy on the wailord you retreated (3 W,1 WP, 1 P) you probably won't have another fully powered wailord , unless you were planning on waterlogging in which case, i got you to end without attacking anyway, unless the same waterlog was used to power both hypothetical wailords

i just want to say to everyone, don't get down on magic umbreon, it's clear that he came up with this really quickly and was just trying to get it out there, people that don't start threads of their own wouldn't understand that

maybe you should just have a mod lock it

Sableye is the best tech "eva". 20 turns to KO one Wailord :)

Wailord wouldn't be the only pokémon. In fact, I was thinking of using Shadow charge to power up a Sableye who can then do decent damage with Disable while you fuel up another Wailord.

I can see every disadvantage of Weavile, but Blastoise is a stage 2. Even if Weavile does nothing more than put one darkness on each Wailmer/ord it's still acceleration. I mean roseanne's to get wailmer and techs or water, drop water and energy charge. Roseanne's gets castform too. SSU gets castform back and just rocks with 200HP and is free retreat(ish).
Weavile/castform is, as previously mentioned in the discussion, a good combo.

I am a little childish: I thought of this idea and have posted it here and if it becomes a big deck or anything, I said it first. I don't think there's anything wrong with that (the copyrighting name thing at the start was a joke).

Darkrai I considered for getting scramble and dre initially though Smeargle might be decent to have some waters to drop. Darkrai can get holon wp if you need it. Maybe not the LvX but your opponent may fear it if there are basic darks lying around :)

In summary, this thread is and always was just a IMO plausible direction Wailord can take to make the most of its strengths (high HP, heals, stage1) and reduce its weaknesses (slow, low damage output). I'm not convinced the energy "issues" destroy the concept much at all, just make it difficult to play.

yeah sableey definately doesn't knock out wailord even in 20 turns, because it heals, it's a good stall though if you need to get your act together for a turn or possible 2

I the point of Sableye CG should not be to inflict damage. It should mainly be used as a tool of disruption in the form of stall and a also as card that aids in topdecking and predicting what you'll get next turn so that you can plan ahead.
