Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Worlds 2006 - Day 3: Main Event - Top32 (Finals)

we have only ONE event with only ONE chance to get a trip to world championship.

if you get bad luck in the final and you get second you LOSE trip to world (about 2.000 $ just for the plane's ticket).
some of us paid the way to worlds, had to grind in til 3 am, then wake up under 4 hours later after having to play 9 long rounds, winning at least 8, and then play the top players of the world.
don't complain about bad luck 2 years in a row, just learn how to metagame and build a better deck

i know how to metagame and how to build excellent decks.

btw if you need the grinder to get the invite that means you missed it in all other events during the year.

Again, i know there are more american playing and bla bla....
But you should understand that a single person from each country (beside UK) in Europe could go to world (unless he is willing to spend 2500-3000$) and that invite+trip is given based on a SINGLE EVENT.

Now, if you say that luck doesn't exist in a card game that means:

1) you don't know what a card game is
2) you have amazing topdecking skills (cheating???)

now i don't complai for my 2nd places.
but someone pointed out (to a friend of mine) that the first > second and that we are just envy for the guy that got first place and went to world.
Pheraps i was wrong to get so upset since the guy that insulted us clearly didn't know what we was talking about cause he said that our national champion was in top 32 when he went 4-4.
The prof he was a troll trying to flame the topic was he didn't get an invite even with his amazing playing skills.... (LOL just kidding)

o... we are not complaining about anything.
I did very bad mistakes due to lack of sleep the days before and had bad luck (squirtle prized in first game and steelix and 2 retriever prized in the second)
Our champion had a really poor deck (LBS without castform ,latias, stadiums, holon's engine) but topdecked like there's no tomorrow and won.

ok, this is tom from T8 15+, I don't know if any of you realized it yet, but the japenese kid that I lost to was playing metadrag, NOT shedstall. 95/5 matchup for him, and he needed a reversal heads for the win in the end of game 1, he got it, otherwise I win and am prolly in top 4, oh well.

Yeah, I was about to say, it's amazing the whole world thought 4th place was Shedinja for 10+ pages. ;p
The other Japanese player in top 8 also played Metanite.

Lafonte takes 1st, 2nd, and 5th! UGH, I was ONE turn away from becoming the first TWO time WORLD CHAMPION! Ohh well, always next year. E4!

Bigchuck01 is so good at Pokemon, the No. 1 Trainer card has a fine print that reads "The actual No. 1 Trainer is Alex Brosseau, the holder of this card is simply the person who got the closest to his level."

You had the deck all along . I remember losing to it.

Maybe next year you'll study the E4 videos a little closer folks! 100% of the 15+ finalists were in the instructional videos! Coincidence? (No!)

Jason is the best player on Earth and deserved to win! WHAT DON'T YOU FREAKS GET?

Tom D is right: the Japanese kid who finished 4th was playing Metadrag. Who started the rumor that he wasn't? Also, Jimmy legitamately beat Jeremy. He crushed him 6-0 in the swiss and handidly beat him in the T4. Jeremy played great by outplaying some good players with Corner (ftw), and I guess just figured out how to beat Metadrag as he went through like four of them. There were big some issues with stalling (most notably including a 5-minute turn with absolutely no win conditions). I was told that there will be changes next year, but that doesn't help the really good, honestly-playing friends of mine who went home literally in tears because they got cheated and the judges did nothing to stop it. Bummer for them!

EDIT: btw props to Chuck on winning Worlds for the 2nd time; great job, buddy!

My 2nd place deck was still more techy.

I hope they fix thier stalling problem. They pretty much allowed stalling in the 15+.

I'm hearing a lot of reports from friends who lost their spot in Top 16 because of blatant slowplay. Judge's discretion apparentely isn't doing it. SURPRISE!
