I (and others) counted this up a few times, and have gotten 61 invites for the Masters Division at Worlds. Will there be 64 players in the Masters Division? If so, will those 3 invites be thrown into the Grinder? I also get 61 for Juniors and 62 for Seniors. Could someone explain?

I coudnted 62 for Masters, however, It is less than 64, however what they are gonna do with those 2 would be interesting.
However, they may have just forgot to put a country or 2 on there,
Drew

Scizor, I counted the masters invites here http://op.pokemon-tcg.com/content/events/faqs/2006-2007/world_champ_faq.asp and got 62 as a total. Why would he number be less than 64? Contingency. However the invites will not be lost as any unused places will be added to the grinder.

see above link said:
POP has reserved as small number of Worlds invites to be used in the event of an unexpected circumstance. If these invites are not used, they will be added to the number of invites awarded at the Last Chance Qualifier.

[random off topic edit: I wonder how Squirtle's application for Maltese residency is comming along :D]

Israel, Slovenia, Greece and South Africa are not in the list with invites.
Might be possible they want to send in someone.

I see exactly what Scizor is setting this up for: he is detailing how the grinder will ultimately hand out as many invites as the Mexican and US national championships combined (of course there's something wrong about this, but I digress).

Hopefully, either the cap is not 64, or something is missing from the website.

Age ups. Some 11-14 kids that made top 4 at worlds turned 15 before the season started.

but I believe that "age ups" have already been accounted for prior to the '06-'07 season, hence the 3 age groups (master, senior, junior divisons). that way, "age ups" wouldnt interfere or mess up any and all invites!!!

am I correct or am I talking non-sense??? sorry if I am...

Absolutelly 100% correct.

POP decided on a system where the number of age-ups from one year to the next is known as soon as the Top4 at worlds the first year is decided.

This allows them to know PRECISSELY how many invites they can give to each division in the coming season.
