Hey, for those that don't know me, my name is Roberto Lozada. I'm from Colorado and went X-0 during swiss rounds in the Nationals Tournament and then lost in Top 32. I decided to run what everybody else in my Colorado team decided to run and that was Palkia G Lock. I practiced this deck inside and out and new how to beat most decks.
Wednesday: My friend Ryan kindly gave me and my little brother a ride to St. Louis, Missouri. We Leave about 7 a.m. and convoy with our other friends Ian, Bret, Adrian, Dante, Jared, and Steve the whole trip. We get to St. Louis around 9 p.m. and stay with Ryan's friend Jsutin and his brothers from Utah. That night we were all hungry so everybody from Colorado and Utah went to White Castle which is very good.
Thursday: Thursday was a relaxing day. We decided to go to the top of the Arch and do some site seeing. Later that afternoon we hung out with some friends and practiced for Nationals. We stayed at the Holiday Inn where every one esle. We stayed in Andrew Murray and Tavish's room.
Friday: I wake up and walk back to the Hilton where we were staying with Justin and Ryan and got ready to play in the modified tournament. I decided to use Shuppet Donk since my friend Bret gave me the list. I also registered for nationals and got a my T-Shirt and went 4-2 in the modified and got 17th! Only top 16 got prizes. After that we went back to the Holiday Inn and Practiced some more for Nationals.
Saturday: Now on to my Nationals Report. I was in the Blue Flight where like 6 other Colorado Players were too. I was to lazy to remember anyone's name sorry.
Round 1: Palkia G vs. Speedrill
This game started out me going first with a Mespit w/ a call and a azelf time walk to get another mesprit so I can lock his weedle and baltoy, then i call for Palkia and Honch. He draws and does Rare Candy Flutter Wings and tried to play uxie but I reminded him that he cant use powers. Next turn I send up Azelf and use lock up so he can't retreat his flutter wings and when it was his turn he played super scoop and for got to use flutter wings again and unfortunatelly I didn't get another mesprit to psychic bind him, so he got to use powers that turn. I keep the lock going and got a palkia G set up and used honch to take out a couple of weedles and he can't get setup. GG

Round 2: Palkia G vs. Mother Gengar(Lunch round)
This game was really stupid because he started out with a baltoy and passes and I draw, look through my hand and see that i have the donk. I play Cyrus to get darkness energy and sp radar, go get honch retreat crobat g attach e-gain and the energy and poketurn the crobat for the k.O. Sorry dude GG

Round 3: Palkia G vs. Gyarados/Palkia G/Floatzel G
This game I start out with Raichu Gl vs. his Magikarp. He goes first and does time walk to get floatzel out and passes using magicarp to get to cards. I draw, attach e-gain and an sp energy to raichu and knock out his magikarp. He draws uses mesprit and another time walk azelf to get gyarados out and passes. I draw. attach to palk and do 30 to active azelf. He draws and passes one more time,. I draw, send up Palk, lv. up and lock him and use Pearl breath for the k.o. He draws sends up floatzel Lv. up and retreatsd into gyrados and hits me for 30. I draw, lock and use pearl breath. This goes on until I k.o. his gyarados and he can't set up. GG

alkia G vs. Hanaan w/ Mother Gengar
On friday, I played Hanaan in the Modified and lost. But this match was a little different. I knew that he was playing mother gengar and this was one of the matches I knew how to win. So I go with an early honch and target attack everything. He never got a heads on fainting spell so that was a oplus. He made one miss play, but it was partially my fault because he couldn't see the unown g attached to my palk x and tried to shadow room it. Our game came down to time and I won. GG

Round 5: Palkia G vs. Porygon Z
This game was pretty easy considering the fact that I power locked him 4 times in a row and he couldn't set up a porygon z. At the end of the game he showed me his prizes and 2 of his porygons were prized. Ouch GG

Round 6: Palkia G vs. Luxape/Gallade
This game went pretty smooth. The whole game he flipped tails on pokemon contest hall except once and palkia sniped out all the luxrays. I power locked him so he couldn't use his claydol or lux x. I also set up azelf downer material so his attacks cost one more colorless. GG

Round 7alkia G vs. Speedrill
This game my opponent "Accidentily" had 9 cards in his hand after using weedle to searchout another weedle. I grabbed honch as fast as i could and sniped out his first weedle. Next turn he does rare candy beedrill and hits me for thirty. I power lock him and I hit him for fifty anf then he scoops cuz he can't get anything else set up. GG

Round 8: Palkia G vs. Gengar/Alakazam
This deck was pretty sweet because he could stop my locks so he would be locked. I grabbed an early honch this game and sniped his gastlys before they were gengars. Then I had to hydro shot the alakazam or else he would just stop my powers. I run through his pokemon and he never gets a heads on fainting spell. I hydro shot a claydol for the game. GG

Yes I made top 64 and I went undefeated during swiss rounds. I'm feeling really good. We take a dinner break and I don't know who I'm playing. The round starts so I head to my seat.
Top 128: Palkia G vs. Palkia G/Mewtwo
Game 1: I get a fast palkia and power lock him and I also get amu. He can't get set up and scoops the first game so he can save time.
Game 2: He starts and has a houndoom out to my mesprit start. I draw and my hand is crap. I attach a call and go get Palkia and azelf dm. He draws and smiles plays mewtwo and retreats houndoom and does energy absorbtion. I think crap im gonna lose unless I get palkia powered up quickly but I was already an energy attachment to short. He plays smart and doesn't put anything else on the bench and just sits there with mewtwo. I cant draw another energy so I scoop the game to go to game three because i have no mewtwo counter.
Game 3: He starts out with a toxicroak the psychic one. He draws and passes. I draw look at my hand to see if I can donk him, but I was short 10 damage so I start setting up palkia. He draws plays roseannes and gets mewtwo and mesprit. He locks me and turns croack and puts mewtwo active. I think crap if he gets it I lose. All i can do is splashing turn and pass. He draws plays bebe's and gets the x and sits there with mewtwo. I was gonna scoop but decided to play it out anyways. I draw attach and pearl breath and lock him. He draws plays palk and passes. I draw thinking that it was weird that he didn't attach to mewtwo, but instead attaches to palk. I play amu down so it takes 1 more colorless for his pokemon and hydro shot clydol on his bench. He draws and attaches and passes. I draw, attach to palk, lock him and pearl breath so it does 10 to all his bench. He draws plays roseannes and gives me a funny look. He gets a baltoy and uxie, plays baltoy and passes. I draw, attach, lock, and hydro shot palkia. The whole game I was wondering why he was still playing bench because that meant I could just snipe his bench. Time is called and I win! YES!!! He shows me his prizes and 2 psychics were prized and he said he only runs 3! Really good game, probably the hardest one of the day.

Top 64: Palkia G vs. Luxape
Game 1: He starts off with Infernape active, and luxray on the bench. He attaches and passes. I draw and start off with palkia active mesprit lock him, uxie and play roseannes to get azelf dm. I splashing turn and hit infernape for 40. He draws attaches energy gain to luxray and energy gain to infernape and trys to split bomb, but forgets that i have azelf out so he passes. I draw, attach to palk, lv up and flash bite ape. lock him, and splashing turn for the k.o. He draws lvs. up and misses because I play power spary and k.o.s my bat. I send up Raichu Cyrus for sp radar get fighting croak and k.o. his lux. He can't set up from there.
Game 2: This game i started off with palk and call energy and he once again starts with infernape. I call for azelf and raichu. He draws plays lux and attaches e-gain, plays baltoy and passes. I play mesprit lock him, attach lv. up and spalshingturn for forty. He draws plays turn on infernape and sends up lux and lv.up doesn't use the power and does bit for 30. I draw, play roseannes, get to bats drop thenm both and poke turn, attach to palk and hydro shot for the k.o. He sends up infernape and can't do anything from there so I win eventually. GG

Day 2
Top 32: Palkia G vs. Darrell Luxray G/Manentric
Game 1: First game I get a pretty good start, i have palkia active lock him first turn and call for azelf dm. He has crobat active and electrik on the bench. He attaches to electrik and passes. I draw lv.up play mesprit, attach and pearl breath. He plays cyrus gets lux out and attaches to manentric does 80 to palkia and attaches to lux. Next turn i get croak ready and do pearl breath for the k.o. He draws attaches to lux lv. up but doesn't use the power and plays sunnyshore stadium1 Yikes, now what am I supposed to do . They'res really nothing i can do so i hit lux with croak and poison it. He draws plays 2 plus powers and flash bite to croak and uxies for 5 and k.o. my croak. So i scoop.
Game 2: His start was lone crobat g and he goes first. He passes. I draw look at my hand in shock, i have a uxie start with a water energy, sp radar, 3 turns, roseannes, and draw into brongzong. So i play sp radar to see how many bats are in the deck and there all there so I grab a bat, play roseannes get 2 more bats, drop them all and do 30 play 3 poke turns and do 30 more and psychic restore for the donk!
Game 3: He starts this game and has 3 luxrays already out with my palkia start. He gets an amazing set up and sunshore out turn 4 so I really can't win this game. GG
So I lose in top 32 but I am very proud of my self going undefeated and losing to an anti deck.
