Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Yamato Marathon: We're not Worthy!

Gotta stop "hijacking" this topic with "it's unfair" talk. Heck, I heard Mexico had tons of players at their Nats too. It's all about cost. No other TCG sends it's players to Worlds like Nintendo. It's just cheaper in the US. But hey, if you can come up with a cheaper way to have Worlds outside the US, I'm sure POP would love to hear from you.

Anyway, Yamato is the "People's Choice" for Player of the Year.

SteveP, I am sure it would cost more, but it would atleast let the event live up to it's name. What if Nationals only let in people from Ohio and then lets say 2/3 people from each state. Would that really be a national event? I think not. Just like this really ins't a world event, it's a USA event with a few people from other countries allowed in.

Of course. Have Worlds in England. What would this mean? Less people from USA, more from Europe. Since LDs are paying non-US trips they cant "afford" to send as many players to USA as I think would PUI be able to send to Europe. But even if it is the same, Europe has the same player base as USA therefore having Worlds in USA has just 1 reason. Because it would cost more to send 80+ players per age group to Europe than to any state within USA. Solution? Send less of those people and more people from Europe. If anyone has a good reason why Worlds should be in USA, please PM me, as I dont want to ruin this thread.

EDIT: Meganium45, I think US Nationals are every year in a different state, right? Therefore every year, other palyers have bigger chance to play in Nats. Thats what we want for Worlds.

Hey, isn't that what Nationals was? I am sure the majority of people were from Ohio and the surrounding states....and except for us sick diehards...there would not have been a lot of other players without the $300 bounty. Look at the total count of 10- players at Nationals last year....it was LOW...this year is was up...hey! Money talks!!!

Hmmm, which state had the most at the Grinder in 2005 and will again in 2006...you think it could be CALIFORNIA???

So, um....OK...

Dead horse beaten...

I'd really like to see the real facts here. It would make sense that a lot of people were from Ohio at Nationals, but many of my friends in my area and I am sure all around the nation did go to Nationals. If I had to bet on anything, I'd bet that there were a lot of people from around the nation, and ohio wasn't abnormally high. On the other hand, at this years worlds, how many USA players were there? How many japan players, or australia players? If I had to bet on anything here, I'd bet there were atleast 4-5 times more usa players than any other region. I'd be SURPRIZED if there were 15 japanese players. Really, I would.

IF the USA is only sending 1 player for each age group to worlds (no matter were worlds take place) it;s worth the name worlds.
And sending 1 player each age group is max 6 tickets, so very cheap.

Staff? Is much cheaper in Europe, judging a full day Nationals costs a LD 10 boosters + 25 Euro + travel money, so if we double that for a day judging at Worlds it's much much much less costs than how judging staff is "payed" in the USA. Even a TO get's more overthere for running a simple pre-release.

Volunteers are what it says, volunteers, no rewards given overhere to volunteers, you do it because you love the game.

Travel allowance to travel to Nationals, does not exist here.
VIP package does not exist here.
Regionals never heared off.
Gym Challenge what's that?

You know were this game would be in the USA without all the benefits the USA players/TO's get???
I know, and everyone else knows if they are honest for one time.

But to stay on topic, Yamato is a great player, no doubt.

Lets also get the facts straight...US Nat's are at Origins in Ohio every year. No plans on moving it away anytime soon either with the same dates. My youngest son's b-day is July 4th! You think we will ever be in Columbus Ohio for US Nats??? NOPE. At least the Worlds venue is moving around some...altho 2 yrs straight in Calil is a bit much IMHO. A high percentage of folks in the grinder was local. Most of the others were there bc they traveled there with an invite/trip winner (ala me).

As stated above, keep this ON TOPIC. I'd hate to see this locked because of certain people's  argumentiveness/stubborness...

Take the worlds/ratio discussion to the thread in TCG News, please!

What were his deck considerations?
Ludicargo, ZRE

Why did he go Ludicargo?
ZRE's Setups were inconsistant.

His thoughts?

Here is his EXACT Words. =D

now it ok . next year i will win :)

I've never meet Yamato before, but from the sound of things, he is a great player and will keep doing well at wherever he goes to.

Hey guys, can somebody give me a link to see a photo of the "Machine!" i wish i could have come, even just to watch him play... and get my MAGMA DECK SIGNED!!!

i wished i could have seen such a master played, but alas, i left early, im glad he got a warm reception though.

sinc ei said that, i say that i think iw ould be cool if Worlds was held in Japan, think about it though, nintendo spends a bit more, but they dont have to get the japanese players over here, and it would be a higher degree of compitition over there.

It was really funny when Yamato got up and left and then the crowd started chanting Go's name and asked him to continue the marathon
