Promo Mization
N.E.O Swarm Collection
Modified Format

Pokemon: 12
3 Mewtwo (Movie Promo)
3 Scyther (Promo)
3 Cleffa
3 Pichu

Energy: 17
9 Psychic
7 Grass
1 Darkness (Crobat tecH)

Trainers: 31
4 Professor Elm
4 Misty's Wrath
4 Double Gust
4 Focus Band
4 Erika
3 Imposter Oak's Revenge
3 Rocket's Sneak Attack
3 Nightly Garbage Run
2 Resistance Gym

Lemme present to you another swarm deck. This deck is more than likely (80 % of the time) to be dealing 40 damage second turn. Mewtwo's Energy Absorption is very strong first turn. You just attach, then Absorb 2 Energy cards that you Wrathed in the discard pile. Next turn hit whatever Pokemon they have with Psyburn. Or, first turn, attach the Grass to Scyther. Next turn, attach another Grass, then hit them for 40. Retreat off the effect, or Double Gust off the effect, and just keep doing it. With disruption, and great card advantage, you should be dealing 40 to their Pokemon, while they fumble to regain control of their game. You can build up these Pokemon very quickly, thus fitting the theme of Swarm.

No, I am not afraid of Fire Pokemon. I mean, second turn 40 to the Cynda/Quilava or Slugma/Cargo or Growlithe/Arcy, none of them (mabye Arcy or Cargo) can kill Mewtwo in one shot by second turn. So hit them with with Psyburn again, and again until you die. Meanwhile you can build support, or Zzzap other Fire Pokemon. Bat and Gatr should fall miserably to this deck. Scyther getting the 80 to the Croconaw, or Mewtwo getting the KO on Golbat.

Well, anything guys?

It looks like a pretty cool deck. The only thing that I would change would be to take out 2 Psycic and add 2 Recycle Energy. It will really help with the Promo Scyther. You can retreat with the Recycle every turn and still do 40 with Scyther every turn.

It looks pretty awesome... heh.

Mewtwo for Crobats...

Scyther for Feraligatrs...

Oh my gosh, this sounds like it could do pretty good in today's metagame. Possibly... how does it do vs Gatrs and Crobats? Can it stand up to them? The two dominant decks are Gatr and Cro, of course...

Recycle Energy! You can slap a Recycle Energy on the Scyther, Retreat, and attack another Poke for 40, or possibly 80 with all the grass-weak Pokes. Then do it again. Recycle works well with Mewtwo as well. His 2 retreat is nice with 2 Recycle energy.

One more Dark Energy. Dark Energy on Mewtwo is too good vs anything with 50 HP and Crobat. Crobat goes down in one hit with Dark.

Sounds likes a tight deck.

2 Recycle Energy is what i'm going along with. of anything people would choose either
Mewtwo or Scyther to be your active pokemon. hey it wouldn't matter much since only
half the pokemon have free retreat and the other two have low counts themselves. any
Mewtwo could be powered up in 2 turns. even if they choose a Mewtwo without energy
you can slap down a Psychic energy and Energy Absorption but odds seem to be you'll
bring up your most energetic Mewtwo back to the frontline and Psyburn their butt:) it's
like this regarding the Scyther as well though they do take 2 turns to power up even if there's no removal cards in this format.

Gymbo--i just don't know what could be slimmed to make the appropriate room if you
needed it. the grass and psychic look like they couldn't really handle getting lowered
anymore than their current totals. i like the idea and the deck.

can't you look and see one of those would totally wreck the deck. Gymbo's deck great
as it is. Electric Grass and Psychic could be run in the same deck but it depends on the
energy requirements for attacks and using some Rainbow Energy. Rocket's Zapdos is
not really worth it here because one would have to include Rainbow Energy as well as
Electric Energy. it's good but not deserving of a place here in my opinion...

JRod: Yea, I have been considering various energy combos. I thought about Full Heal at first, then the tecH Darkness to attach and OHKO the Crobat. But, yea, the Recycle Energy should help tremendously. So I think I'll get some in here. Change: -1 Darkness -1 Psychic for +2 Recycle.

Dark Ho-Oh: No, Rocket's Zappy doesn't fit the theme of this deck at all. I am going for mega speed and archetype metagaming. Zappy grabs energy from the discard, but it's pretty slow...

Aipom's Bum: Thanks a lot. I was just thinking about various combo cards today. And I just thought, eh, what the heck, I'll see what the folks on WizPog say. Yea, see above on JRod about the whole Recycle Energy attachment thing. I just made the deck, so I dunno how it'll work. I'll be sure to give it a try!

K3vin: Yeap, you've got the idea of the deck. Yea, I have been looking over the deck, and I cannot notice any other change to add. Except to mabye get Chaos Gym in there...

Thanks guys, for the posts, here's the slightly tweaked deck.

Hey Gymb. the decks looks awesome. Yea add the 2 Dark energies. With those you can KO 50 HP on turn 2 and win easily. And possibly try a trash ex. to get those DBL Gust back. GL

No other Gym? Not even Chaos? Maybe -1 Erika and add a Chaos Gym just for more disruption.

Steelix hurts you really bad...especially coming from SI onix. I'd tell you to tecH unown M, but your pichus would usually end up killing it...so tecH a NR Shuckle, so at least you can let poison eat the thing.

the deck looks pretty good ... the only problem i see is it would lose to a single Steelix ... so try adding another mewtwo to attack steelix with taking out a Misty's wrath . the reason I'd choose a misty's wrath is cause you don't need 4 wrath 4 Erika and 4 elm in the same deck ... 4 Elm , 4 Erika , and 3 Wrath would work fine . and for the energy I'd minus 1 psychic and 1 grass for 2 FHE .

Yeah, get 2 Dark in there.

Go for KOs vs the Onixes with Scyther. Vs the N1 Onix, which is fairly common, you KO it second turn. Vs SI Onix, you could use a Dark with Scyther.

Neat "haymaker" type deck. I know people have mentioned steelix, but with all the babies and psy weak mewtwo, dark gengar would give you trouble. Good thing no one plays it. Smeargle could (to a lesser extent) hurt you also. I like the idea of a chaos gym in this deck but with the ior/erica/rsa there is no room....
