Topic: "Thread The Weedle"

i need help using MTM's "Thread The Weedle" deck. i want to make it playable in New Modified Format. that leaves out 6 cards: 2 Rocket's Scyther, 2 Resistance Gym, and 2 Chaos Gym. any ideas what to replace them with?
heres MTM's origanal deck:
20 Pokemon:
3 Cleffa N1
4 Weedle N2
3 Kakuna N2
3 Beedrill N2
3 Yanma N2

i was thinking about replacing Resistance Gym with Magnifier.

That deck isn't even allowed in Casual! And I bet the entire Answer a Question/Ask a Question thread in the RTC that MTM wouldn't dare break the rules.
Also, the abbreviation is vague. Sure MTM could be Master Trainer Mike, but it could also mean Mary Tyler Moore. Careful with abbreviations.

Slim, lugia251, how will you defend against Fire? I had Jynx in there for that reason. Also, Cleffa doesn't belong in the deck. This is just another deck that can be ruined by Cleffa usage.

um...Everyone here knows who MTM is! He's the grand daddy of them all! Also, it's a joke cause he is obsessed with weedle.... I'd go with Slim, especially since it has no smoochum

I strongly agree with Raikou, the less smoochum the better. Also you may want to find a way for a 4-4-4 Beedrill line.

Where's the Smoochum? And I personally hate Pokémon Breeder. I use it only in emergencies (like trying to get three different Dragonites from four Dratini).

Most of the time, when you think the whole world is wrong, and you are right, it is actually the other way around.
Smoochum SUCKS. IT SUCKS. The only thing that smoochum can beat cleffa at is looking better when it burns. Maybe.
If you get heads on psykiss (IF YOU GET HEADS), and you make the opp. lose their energy, it goes back to their deck. Can you say Copycat? Elm? Cleffa? All these cards can get it back easily. (Of course, you wouldn't know that, seeing as you probably think they ruin decks too.)
Stop putting in SMOOCHUM. Just stop.

I agree that its good but take out 2 neo scyther
and add 2 promo scyther it work for me when I had
my crobat deck.

Well look at their purpose:
Resistance Gym - eliminate resistance - try magnifier, but it's a one-shot deal.
Chaos Gym - trainer disruption - slim pickings after Jan 1, 2003 on trainer disruption, no Slowking - Noctowl can be some help maybe.
Rocket's Scyther - stall power + damage - try babies such as Tyrogue - hopefully with a focus band.
Hope this helps. And for once (!!!) the advice about smootchum may have merit ![[Devilish]](graemlins/diablo.gif) - if you're up against a steelix since he's your resistance - get rid of his steel ASAP.
In reality - the poison route is the way to go - poison 'em and let 'em wither.
