now i know Gym Challenge Koga cards aren't playable in modified, put here's one that works on the same premise. 18 Pokemon: 2 Cleffa PR 2 tyrouge 3 Ekans E 2 Arbok E 3 Oddish E 1 Gloom E 3 Vileplume E 1 Sneasle NR 1 Murkrow NG
22 trainers: 2 breeder LC 3 trader LC 4 gold berry 3 switch E 4 full heal E 3 moo-moo milk 3 bill
20 Energy: 4 darkness energy 4 full heal energy 12 grass energy
vileplume should be able to be turn 2, now that slowking has been banished. with Vileplumes Poke-power "Poison Pollen" i can use Arboks attack to do 40 damage(50, if you count the poison that comes right after it). what do you think?

Well, ya got me, 'cause Koga is da man.
What I think is Stelix is a problem. What about taking out the 4 fh and putting in 4 ER2. Discard those steel energys (2 maybe). That might help. Also, Shuckle and a steel of your own might be good.
Shuckle with GGM can do 20 a turn poison to Steelix and take only 1. Just have some berry. Hard to say how to deal with low hitter grass types.

how about Legendary Ponyta and E Rapidash? they both have colorless attacks. and the Full Heal are very important because Vileplume gets confused everytime it attacks. and, what do you think about replacing vileplume with LC Nidoking? that would be 60 damage from arbok on turn 3. Hmm.
E 'Plume: Well, I don't think I'd attack with him, he's more of a stand-off poisoner, to set up the Arbok. However, someone just said '2 for possible 30 x3, and you won't attack with him?'. Well, that's a good point. Here's two ways to look at it. If you're going to count on attacking with this poke, the only thing that is certain is that you'll get confused. I've come up with 0 heads and lost the game with Crobat, G. Machamp & Kabutops too much. If you plan him as a main hitter then, you've got to commit cards to fix the confusion, which is going to cost you draw or healing. I'd keep the 4 FHE, in any case, but switch is double duty for anti-confusion and rescue; I prefer that over FH trainer.
Ponyta/Dash? Well, then you want to skip one of your grass lines. Personally, I like E Ninetales in a mixed deck. The mix of energy (his big attack is 3 colorless for 30, but +20/discard for each fire). His first attack is 75 percent chance of confusion. Here's Steelix worst nightmare:
Steelix: Hi, just got your active baby, ha ha! E Plume (no Energy): Well, you're poisoned aren't you? E Tales (RG): Hmm, are you confused too? Yes, you are!
Steelix: No switch or FHE. Hmm. I try to attack. Agh! At least my two metal protect me from damage! E Plume (GR): Hmph! You're still 20HP down. E Tales (RGG): Discard. Ethereal Flame for 50 doubled, minus 20 equals 80. 100 damage on you now. E Plume (GR): End of our turn. Poison. See you in the poke-center.
So, this is worst case and the poor steelix had no Gold Berry, Switch or FHE, but still a pretty good combo. You don't even need the energy on Plume. Just have breeder around. [ December 19, 2002, 10:30 PM: Message edited by: bulbasnore ]
