Here is an interesting deck idea, that seems a little out there, but may work well. It is a little Flip dependent, but in Modified, most decks seem to be anyways. Here is a rough draft

(19)
3 Voltorb (Aq 50HP, incase of Chan)
3 Electrodes
3 Pikachu (NG)
3 Riachu (NR)
2 Dodou (LC)
2 Dodrio (LC)
2 Cleffa (NG)
1 Aipom (NG)

(29)
3 Elm
3 Copycat
2 Jugglers
3 Pokemon Center
3 Pokemon Nurse
4 Double Gust
3 Focus Bands
2 Bill
2 Master Ball
2 Energy Stadium
2 Lightning Cube #1

(12)
2 Recycle Energy
10 Lightning

The Idea is to have everyone with free retreat by getting 1 Dodrio into Play, Use Riachu as the main attacker, and after Discarding for the second attack, use Electrode to try and get him repowered and attack again. Dodrio also helps protect the deck from its Fighting weakness, which is a major plus.

PS, any attempt or suggestion to remove Aipom will be ignored!!!

Swanton 1717 really owned me with a version of this deck. I have a whole new repect for it.

Drop the Pikachu/Raichu Line to max on Lightning Cubes, and add in 2 NG Pichu (but, wait, I use powers, ....) OK, OK, if you want use Elekid, but read on...

Then add 2 Pokemon Center (but wait, I need energy,...but read on)

The idea here is to ABUSE the lightning Cube by placing it on Elekid/Pichu (focus banded) and then discarding the energy, which you get back with Electrode, placement, and Energy Stadium real quickly!

Once you dump all your energy with your cubes, Pokemon Center, and then get it all back with Electrode (real irritating). this deck beat my Nidoking deck (fighting based), but I have changed around to destroy it, but I have a feeling I will not be seeing this deck, thanks to Swanton's quest for Vileplumes? :/

Keep your eyes on Swanton1717's deck ideas. Truly one of the better deck builders in the game today!

Keep your eye on this SBZ, I doubt one deck will "reign" supreme - as this version of modified may be the golden age of all possibilities that we were all waiting for!

See you on the boards!

Kewl, an even better way to abuse this is when you discard the Cubes, try and get them back with Aipom. Worst case Scenario is Aipom is still Shuffled, and a Baby is Again Active.

I could also run Broken Ground Gym Effectively too. with Dodrio, Babies and Basic still retreat free (well, except Voltorb)

But why NG Pichu though, I would think Promo Pichu would work better. Cant use the cube, find another baby.

Last thought, which Zapdos was included in LC. It could be abusive if it was the original Base set like I think it was (Didnt feel the need to collect cards I already own branded as a new set)

Hey Spec.....now that I know who you are...the Base is the one in LC. This deck might be a good choice due to the amount of E-Gatr that are starting to appear. Dunno....you have so many to choose from...this could be a contender....uh-oh D. TTar anyone.... [Devilish]

I like this deck htough...the cubes with babies is a great idea...and I agree with running maybe both pichus.....heck that way you can get more babies...

Dark T-tar can be contained. Maybe a couple of Magniefiers, teamed with Zapdos. Long as the Hideout Gym isnt in play, its an easy KO, though a couple of good flips with Lightning Cube and even resistance of 30 isnt enough.

CmonIWanaPLaYa , yeah I noticed the new Gator, and dont forget Dark Stoise too, though noone around here plays it (yet. Though I havent rebuilt it from original Modified yet!). I htink it can handle Fighting types, and dont forget Electrodes attack is Swift, so resistance and Metal mean little!

Ok, revamped Rolling Thunder

3 Voltorb (Aq, 50HP, again Chan)
3 Electrode (Aq)
2 Zapdos (Base/LC)
3 Pichu (2 Promo, 1 NG)
2 Elekid (NG)
2 Doduo (LC)
2 Dodrio (LC)
2 Cleffa (NG)
1 Aipom (NG)

3 Elm
3 Copycat
2 Jugglers
4 Pokemon Center
3 Pokemon Nurse
4 Double Gust
3 Focus Band
4 Lightning Cube
1 Towns Volunteers
2 Broken Ground Gym

10 Lightning
2 Rcycle

OK, I like Juggler, good card drawing and can get energy in the discard at the beginning of the game. Broken Ground barely hurts me at all (again only Voltorb) and my biggest delima is do I drop the two Recycle and go straight Lightning, or leave the Recycle? Again Aipom can Pilfer for a Cube, and send up a baby. What if anything should I take out if I wanted to add a Magnifier or 2, or do you think I should even bother?

Hey Spec!!

I did play against one last weekend...HL... and I can almost guarantee that she will play it at SBZ...maybe not, but she uses it well.

I like the new deck, seems like a better flow to it.

I know what Broken ground gym is for, but would energy stadium work a little better, just gets that extra energy back plus the Trodes PP. Just a thought...Good Luck at SBZ!!

Email me at [email protected]
want to email a possible deck idea to you that I have used before....thanks

Actually play tested it last night, against 4 decks, it did pretty well against the Modified ones.

Deck edit

-1 Double Gust
-1 Towns Volunteers
-2 Recycle
+1 Voltorb
+1 Electrode
+2 Warp Energy (mostly for Zapdos)

This deck is a blast. Though its obvious weakness of Poke Powers and not flowing smoothley without Dodrio can hinder it. As far as playing Energy Stadium over Broken Ground, yes it does, but so many people play Energy Stadium so I can abuse theres. though I may switch to 1 and 1 on stadiums, though by droping Recycle Energy, I am also considering Poketower.
