Here's my friends deck for a comeing up tourny, any suggestions? We've played a few games to play test it, and if the opponet has only 1 Pokemon out frist turn, and this deck goes first, you'll see alot of first turn wins. Bill's and Oak'ing for Plus Powers and Misty. He knocked out my Scyther first turn with ease. He doesnt need alot of energy since he goes through his deck real fast, decking himself doesnt seem a problem, decks dont last against the quick knock outs. He's open to any ideas. Thanks!

Pokemon:16
4 Misty's Poliwag "bubbles"
4 Misty's Poliwrath
4 Cleffa
4 Scyther

Trainers:28
4 Oak
4 Pluspower
4 Gust of Wind
4 Pokemon Breeder
4 Misty
4 Comp Search
2 Celedon Gym (or whichever is Misty's)
2 Item Finder
Energy:16
4 Double Colorless
12 Water

Well, lesse.... [Big Grin]

I think 4 Cleffas is a bit overkill; drop 2 of them for a pair of Nightly Garbage Runs...this card *will* save your butt late-game....

I don't like item finder at all...axe 'em for a pair of Misty's Poliwhirl...

...because if someone manages to get trainer denial going, you're all but toast!

Finally, drop 2 of the Poke. Breeders for an additional Water Energy and a No Removal Gym...ER and SER are rampant in the unlimited format,a nd you just never know when they'll show up.... [Smile]

Feel free to email me anytime!

Item finders are for getting back Plus Powers and Misty's (for the easy KO's) Cleffa drop by 2 is a good idea so i'll switch them for 2 NGR's. But that leaves him with 10 pokes and currenty no Poliwhirl in deck. What should I drop for the 2 Poliwhirl? the breeders? Thanks!

-2 Cleffa
+2 NGR

Hmm...o.k., if the Item Finders absolutely need to stay...I think you could drop 2 Breeders for a pair of M. Poliwhirl, simply because the NGR and Item Finders would make up for the loss....

And as I mentioned above, if someone cuts off Trainers, without any stage 1 evo's, your friend's deck would be in serious trouble with just the Scythers for offense, especially if you're facing an Erika's Dratini.... [Big Grin]

Actually you do have a point about Poliwhirl being better attack wise. Plus it would give the deck more speed, so lets figure this out, what else i need?

Pokemon:14
4 Misty's Poliwag
4 Misty's Poliwhirl
4 Scyther
2 Cleffa

Trainers:28
4 Oak
4 Pluspower
4 Gust of Wind
4 Misty
4 Comp Search
2 RSA
2 NGR
2 Celedon Gym (or whichever is Misty's)
2 Item Finder

Energy:18
4 DCE
14 Water Energy

If you want to play a FTKO deck, you will need more draw power to get your combo set up for nearly sure every time. If your opponent is still standing after the first few turns, you have not enough HP or (any) healing to stay in the game with 20 and 30 attacks. The 2 cards you need much more of are Misty's Wrath and Item Finder. They will allow you to mill your deck for everything you need. Cut your W energies down a lot to make room.

IOR might help with keeping more Pokemon out of his hand; maybe in exchange for RSA.

You might want to ditch a Scyther and M Poliwhirl for 2 E Jigglypuff, which will be a lot more comfortable in attacking Babies (putting damage adding trainers on M Poliwag to get a 50% attack can get expensive, especially if they have Focus Band or M energy).

Sorry fro the abreviations, Lumien.

Imposter Oak's Revenge (TR) says: "Discard a card from your hand in order to play this card. Your opponent shuffles his or her hand into his or her deck, then draws 4 cards."

Erika's Jigglypuff (GC), a 50 HP colorless basic has 2nd attack Pulled Punch (CC) which reads: "If the Defending Pokemon has no damage counters on it, this attack does 40 damage. If it has any damage counters on it, this attack does 10 damage."

Ok so after the long butchering (even though EJ is flipping over his new deck!) This is it.

Pokemon:14
4 Misty's Poliwag
3 Misty's Poliwhirl
3 Scyther
2 Cleffa
2 Erika's Jigglypuff

Trainers:31
4 Oak
4 Pluspower
4 Gust of Wind
4 Misty
4 Comp Search
3 Misty's Wrath
2 NGR
2 IOR
4 Item Finder

Energy:15
4 Rainbow Energy
11 Water Energy

Ok, looks pretty solid any room for Stadiums?

The 2 Cerulean City Gyms are very important to your strategy to allow you to shake off that no attack clause on tails for M Poliwag. You really need those other free retreaters to help make this happen also. Therefore I would vote to lose a GOW and either IF or IOR, your call.
