Ok, here's a fighting deck that was always a favourite of mine, give me your opinions, and tell me how to make it better without having to use Neo4 or AQ cards if you can.
*The Rats Of War Have Returned!* Pokemon: 4 Brock's Sandshrew(GH:50hp) 4 Brock's Sandslash (GC:70HP) 4 Lt. Surge's Rattata (Gnaw) 4 Lt. Surge's Raticate (Super Fang) 4 Rattata (TR) Trainer Cards: 3 Resistance Gym 2 Super Energy Removal 3 Prof Oak 4 Pewter City Gym 4 Bill 4 Gust of Wind 4 Pluspower Energy Cards: 8 Fighting 4 Double Colorless Energy 4 Recycle energy
Ok, this is a themed deck, based primarily around using the Lt. Surge's Raticate with pluspower attached to soften up the opponent, and then finish them with either a sandslash or a Surge's Rattata. Pewter gym means that I don't have to worry about fighting-resistant pokemon, as the only fighting pokemon in the deck have Brock in their names, and Resistance gym is backup just in case I don't have a pewter gym handy. Enjoy, and tell me what ya think!

A couple of combos I can think of to get your deck moving...
Try playing 'Here Comes Team Rocket', in combination with the TR Rattata.
Use tonnes more Energy Removal and Super Energy Removal.
Four Pewter City Gym is too much, slim the deck down and use Computer Search to get the cards you really need.
Add 'The Rockets' Trap' and some Sneasels with Darkness Energy, instead of the Fighting Energy, and the Brock's Sandslash lines. Then, add Metal Energy to help reduce self-damage with the Double Edge attacks on Surges' Rats, and finish off with some Neo:Genesis Slowking and Murkrow/Chansey, and there you have the classic 'Rat' deck to own all who dare to challenge...
Have fun,

Heey Freddy! Interesting, although you seem to have missed the theme of the deck entirely. All the pokemon in the deck are either described as Rat pokemon or Mouse Pokemon. I had considered using the double-edge/metal combo, but decided against it in the end because I don't mind taking it so long as I can still dish it out (The punishment I mean, of course.) You are right that I have way too many gyms in the deck, and Computer search would help a lot, as would Here comes team rocket, gotta help when you know what your prizes are, heh. Personally, I do like the sandslash line, and I always have, also with it there it means I won'tr be eaten alive by fighting decks, I really hate weakness, and my usual opponent plays a lot of decks based around brock's onix and Rhyhorn. Still, thanks for the suggestions, I'll figure out what to remove in order to put in some energy removal.
