I really expected some help from the "Masters" in this forum, but to no avail. Fortunately, I have received it from other sites. I am now going to edit the original post with this new one. ______________________________________________ I have done a lot of research and play-testing with this deck and I feel I have reached the final stage of this deck. I am very happy with it. I also have to give partial credit to "Gymb0" for my research. Here is my final revision.
“TermiG8tr”
POKÉMON (20)
4x Totodile ( 2x-NG –“Fury Swipes” & 2x-E ) 3x Croconaw ( 2x-E, 1x NG "Sweep Away" ) 3x Feraligatr (E – “Tsunami”) 2x Scyther (E – “Slash” 50HP ) 2x Scizor ( A ) 2x Tyrogue ( NG ) 2x Magby ( NG ) 1x Elekid ( NG ) 1x Cleffa ( NG )
TRAINERS (23)
4x Professor Elm ( NG ) 3x Copycat ( E ) 4x Pokemon Trader ( LC ) 2x Pokemon Fan Club ( A ) 4x Double Gust ( NG ) 4x Gold Berry ( NG ) 2x Town Volunteers (A)
ENERGY (17)
10x Water Energy 4x Metal Energy 3x Recycle Energy
The Babies really help with the "initial" damage. They also help a lot with the "Tsunami" power.
The new choice of the use of the 50HP Scyther was a tough one. I decided on this version, because it can do "initial" damage with one Colorless Energy if needed. The other Scizor is great, but can't attack until I get three Energies on it. The objective is to get Metal Energy on it. So building the "Cross-Cut" Scyther would be nullified by the Metal Energy anyway. I felt this would be a better version and it could attack with a Recycle Energy, if needed. For the most part it will sit on the bench and build up.
I have heard many statements about my Scizor and its lack of Grass Resistance. Yes, I was disappointed, but came to my own conclusion: Steelix is great, but too defensive. Scizor has the best of both worlds. The more metals on it the greater damage it can produce, with the added bonus of high defense. So, with that in mind, I'm not too concerned with the "Grass" resistance when I have 2-4 Metal Energy on it. Let's not forget the added bonus of resisting Poison. I'm not worried about Pichu with two Metals on it. This Scizor is brutal!
Lastly, one Cleffa may seem like a concern, but here is my take on it: Slowking is gone – that’s one, so Cleffas are not needed as much. I still believe 1 or 2 should be in every deck. For this deck, my main objective is to have Babies doing damage for Feraligatr. The new release of Pokemon Fan Club allows me to get my Cleffa out in the beginning of the game. The chances of it being in the Prize pile is minimal, so 1 is enough.
Anyway, I’m sure as time goes on there will be minor tweaks here-and-there, but overall I am very confident about this deck - and that is the most important aspect of Deck-building: confidence.
Inputs and/or comments are still welcome. Thank you for your time working with me on this deck. [ February 18, 2003, 04:15 AM: Message edited by: HollowDragonMaster ]
