The best combo with it is definitely what Meganium45 said about attaching the Darkness to a baby. Just keep gusting in more Babies and keep KOing them over and over with the same Darkness Energy.

I suppose if you're gunna move Darkness Energy from the discard pile, you could combine it with Fossil Gengar to move the damage counters to a Pokemon on the bench.
But that's assuming that your opponent has Darkness energy in his/her deck. What if he/she doesn't?

What about using it with Dark Haunter or Dark Ursaring. Call Back and Provoke the babies and then as it has been mentioned, Put a darkness on them. With D. Ursaring's attack only being 2 C for Bench damage, then the Darkness does 10. Next Turn Provke and do it again. Finally, D. Ursaring might have chance.

New Archetype? Based around a card that gets owned by electabuzz, in the new era of electric splash that is happening?
I will believe the new archetype when I see it. New deck idea, yes.
New archetype, that is certainly patting yourself on the back for a deck that hasn't been played yet.
Time will tell.

Think about this: If you have multiple tentacruels (say 2-3)(free retreat cost by the way). Use Power, then attack with espeon (free retreat also).
What if they have dark energy in their discard, you could do it over and over again. Using the darks as plus powers.
Equals LOTS of damage!

I do not claim that I will develop the archetype, only that this card will be in one.

Unlimited format:
Blastoise benched, articuno active and all 4 Tentacruels benched.
S/ER/2 the darkness
And raindance ensures you have more energies than they do
Modified:
Yea, I see it going with Espeon too, load up the defending pokemon so espy does an instant 70 o.O
Modified and Unlimited:
I can also see it comboing with the new Octillery >=) load up darkness onto the active -then they'll HAVE to switch
My fav combo would probably have to be with the new Octillery
Tentacruel's poison sting attack would be nicer if it was auto-poison or did 30.....20 /w auto poison would KO babies regardless of focus band
Raikou: What was the other card ?

Hmm.. I'd say that the Tentacruel isn't THAT good, but it may be possible to build a solid deck with the right combo. Another card may help it in the future aswell? Or even another card on the set..?

hmmm.
Your active has to have more energy on it than your opponent. If that happens, you may choose an energy and attach it to their active. Well first off, it it isn't rainbow or dark, the card only helps out your opponent. And remember, everytime you give them an energy, they get one more closer to having more energy than you. I could see it being used with EX. Venusaur, because you could lay a good amount of cards down, have like a neo 1 meganium, a ex venusaur, and 2 tentacruels. That way, you always have energy over them, but pichu would own this deck. [ January 10, 2003, 04:42 PM: Message edited by: Prime ]

*sigh*
quote: Poképower - Strange Tentacles Once during your turn (before your attack)as long as the number of Energy cards attached to the Defending Pokémon is less than the number of Energy cards attached to your Active Pokémon, you may choose an Energy card, if any, in your opponent's discard pile and attach it to the Defending Pokémon. This power cannot be used if Tentacruel is affected by a Special Condition.

Prime: I think you've misread the card -it says if YOUR active has more than the defending you may attach an energy from their discard to their active, why is this good?
attach darkness to non-dark, attach metals to their cleffas while they are trying to eeeeeeek for their power/energy charges.
another thing you could do:
Have a fire type against steelix like RK9, KO Steelix, then get Tentacruel to place metals on their new active pokemon, and since it reduces BASE damage then you wont have such big problems with water! (think about it 80 becomes 0!) but then again your own attacks get reduced by 40 although RK9 ends up doing 30/40 still
But yea mostly what i'd do is make a deck with it and Octillery, awesome since Octillery needs a poison-like effe- OOOOOO LOOK A SMEARGLE IN A FURRET COSTUME!!!
