Topic: SR gligar and NG gligar

Currently my deck is running 2 NG gligars and they're doing great. I'm just wondering if the SR gligar is as good. SR gligar is very similar to NG gligar. It has the same hp as the NG one. It has a one-energy attack which is always good for a basic pokemon. Its second attack is what makes me consider of using this gligar rather than the NG one. It can poison if heads and confuse if tails. If I put this gligar in my deck, my deck will have more status disruptions to my opponent. The only bad thing is that it has one retreat cost. NG gligar's free retreat always helps me a lot in a game. Help me choose.

I've chosen to stick with Genesis. No retreat cost is huge in my Donphan deck. A lot of this depends on what kind of deck you're running, of course.

Of course, both Gligars, as well as the Neo Destiny one, have had the same misinterpreted Weakness ever since it burst onto the TCG scene.
Taking Game Boy types into account (Gligar is Ground/Flying), Gligar's {G} Weakness doesn't make sense. While Ground Pokémon are weak to Grass, Flying Pokémon are strong to Grass. Weak + strong = neutural, thus Grass on Gligar is neutral. (The other types that use {G} Energy, Poison and Bug, leave Gligar either strong against it or neutral).
With that in mind, Gligar is left with two Game Boy Weaknesses, Water and Ice (both represented by {W} Energy). Gligar has a single Weakness to Water and a double Weakness to Ice. Thus Gligar should have had a {W} Weakness all along.
Aerodactyl had the same problem, but that was corrected in Skyridge.
(BTW: Gligar's {F} Resistance makes sense, but so would a {L} Resistance. Possibly something to look for when Nintendo releases sets.)

Nintendo is the one who released the Gligar cards like this. Wizards is not responsible for any of these bizzare misshaps. Other cards suffer simular fate.
AQ Quagsire, weak to LIghtning
Base Gyarados weak to Grass
Dratini/Draginair with Restance to Psychic
I could go on, there are quite a few, but I will end there, for now.

Yeah, and before the Gold and Silver series came out, Psychic Pokémon were not affected by Ghost-type attacks. (Now they're weak against them.) Thus all pre-Neo Psychic Pokémon with Psychic Weakness didn't make sense at the time. In fact, the only Psychic Pokémon at the time for which a Psychic Weakness would have made sense were the only ones that didn't have that Weakness (the Gengar line, which is now infamous for its "Weakness to Darkness").
Also, for Dratini and Dragonair, the Resistance to Psychic didn't make sense, but according to GB types, neither did having no Weakness. The entire line, especially the double-weak to Ice Dragonite, would make more sense with a Weakness to {W}.
And who put Fighting Resistances on Beedrill and Venomoth?
