I'm curious. Let's say that Porygone 2's Energy Converter is used to convert a grass basic energy card to fire. What do we have? Do we have a grass basic energy card that provides fire energy (not grass)? Here's why I ask. I read this ruling about Rainbow Burn on Ho-oh that confused me:
quote: Q. If a Porygon2 changes a grass on Ho-oh with 4 grass on it to fire, it will still only do only 50 instead of 60?? A. 50 damage. (Jan 10, 2002 WotC Chat, Q1056)
From the Ho-oh ruling, it appears that while Energy Converter changes the grass basic energy card to provide fire energy, the card is still a grass basic energy card (therefore Rainbow Burn's attack doesn't increase by 10).
So, what's the deal? [ November 30, 2002, 03:00 AM: Message edited by: SteveP ]

I believe you're misreading the question. The answer is correct.
From the oracle:
quote: {C}{C}{C}{C} Rainbow Burn This attack does 30 damage plus 10 more damage for each type of Basic Energy card, if any, attached to Ho-oh. 30+
So in this case there are 2 types of basic energy attached, so it does 50: 30 plus 20. The actual problem here is the question: It should have said 40 or 50, not 50 or 60.

Yah, I blow this one. I was thinking that Rainbow Burn's base damage was 40, not 30.
Nevermind!
