Edited: Made your topic title more descriptive.

Hello --I have a question or two and would prefer that anyone who may wantto answer, email or call me. [email protected]

My son, Logan, has just started getting into the Pokemon cards. Someone is giving him in excess of 600 cards for him to go thru.

My question is: which ones are worth more than others? I know that some cards are 'hot' at times while others aren't.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated!
I would love for someone to call me and tell me, 'Hey man! Look for these cards!"

thanx in Advance everyone!

Hey,

I removed your phone #, that may be askign for 'crank' calls... BUT did leave your email.

HOW about organizing you cards, list *SOME* and or if not let us know what sets they come from.

THERE are 3 types of battles:
UNLIMITED
Where ALL cards are legal (almost no Movie Promo mew-reverse Holo nor B'day Pikachu)

SO hard hitting pokemon are good: Wiggly, Sneasal, slowking, dakvilplume *for the REALLY skilled*, YOU NORMALLY do not play evolutions or few.

AS the trainers also:
Prof Oak, Super Energy Removal, Computer Search, Item Finder, LASS

THEN there is MODIFIED
where only those cards from Neo1 to the newest set are allowed, Southern Islands, Legendary Collection, and Promos except for 1-20 AND Slowking & Sneasal are banned. EVOLUTION pokemon are a must.

THERE is a LIMITED (tournamanets usually)
that comes in 2 flavors: Pre-COnstructed deck and 2-3 boosters or DRAFT all you get are boosters to make a deck from (but there is a certain way the cards get distributed)

ANY other Q's just post 'em here.

*sort of had a tough time knowing where to MOVE this topic*

GOODLUCK!!!

Thanx for looking out for me pal.

I'll be honest w/ you, a lot of what you just said went waaaay over my head.

I really want a list to go by that tells me which cards are more sought after than others.

Is there a site I can go to, like a baseball card site, that'll give me the info I am looking for?

Thanx again --- TRIG

www.pojo.com has set lists and price lists.
It depends if you are looking for money value or play value.

Note the rarity symbols on the bottom right of the cards. "Circle" is Common, "Diamond" is Uncommon, "Star" is rare. Foil "stars" are three times more rare than non-foil stars.

Another thing to look for is the 1st Edition stamp on a card.

ok,

so where it says, "Stage 2" is that where you mean it'll say "1st Edition" (the same place)?

Thanx

No Stage 2 just lets you know what type of Evolution card you have. 1st ed. signs can usually be found on the left hand side of the card, just under the picture border. Hmmmm you might want to check out The Anatomy of a Pokémon Card to see if that helps. Or you can check out PokéSchool's Scan page to see what set they are from. The Fossil Aerodactyl is a 1st ed. so you can see the 1st ed. symbol. The 1st ed. symbol on Trainer cards is usually located on the lower left or right hand corner under the card text. Here's a picture of of a 1st ed. Thought Wave Machine Trainer for you to look at.

Oh if you move your cursor over the words, you'll hit a link to bring up the page i'm talking about.
