1. What happens if Light Golduck from Neo Destiny with 3 Psycho Energy fights against Tyranitar from Expedition with 4 fire energy? How much damage deals Light Golduck to Tyranitar, how much Tyranitar to Light Golduck?
2. Take the same situation, except that Tyranitar now has 4 darkness energy.

1. Lt. Golduck does 30. The energy is still basic (albeit darkness). T-tar does base damage as the damage adding function is not applied.
2. Lt Golduck does 110, as the darkness is still special. T-Tar does Base+40 damage, as the energy effect is still there.

What are you talking about? The Expedition Tyrannitar doesn't have any attack that deals with energy, and the Base damage is 50, not 40!

Yoshi means that with four actual Darkness Energies attached, Tyranitar will do its base attack damage +40 (+10 for each Darkness Energy Card). But with 4 Fire Energy Cards attached, Tyranitar onlys does its base damage. Even though it's power turns all the energy cards attached to it into Dark, it does not add the +10 damage effect.

Now I'm confused ![[Confused]](../tcg/confused.gif) . After the answer of yoshi 1001 I thought Tyranitar EX with 4 fire energies would deal 50 damage and if you flip head his attack would deal 60 damage to the defending pokemon and 10 damage to each pokemon on opponent's bench? The same case with 4 darkness energies, I thought it will do 90, if you flip tails and 100 to the defending and 10 damage to each pokemon on opponents bench, if you flip heads. Isn't that right?

It looks to me like what you said was right, Togepii. I was just saying that the fire energy cards don't give them same +10 bonus as actual Darkness Energy cards. I was pointing out to Llama that Yoshi was saying that with 4 Dark's the attack does base damage (whatever the total is after the flip) +40 to the defending pokemon.
