Topic: getting back into Pokemon

i started playing when pokemon first came out and stopped playing when Fossil came out. So i want to know if someone could answer some questions that i have forgotten.
1) When a pokemon evolves does it get rid of the damage counters on it?
2) Can you play only one energy a turn?
3) With the prizes can you put any cards you want or do you draz the first 6 cards and make them prizes?
If someone could help me out i would really appreciate it.

3. You draw the top six cards and make them prizes.
