Fossil Haunter's Pokemon Power Transparency reads: "Whenever an attack does anything to Haunter, flip a coin. If heads, prevent all effects of that attack, including damage, done to haunter". Expedition gengar's Hide in Shadows attack effect reads: "Switch Gengar with 1 of your benched pokemon, if any".
If I attack with Hide in Shadows and choose Haunter as my pokemon to switch with, I should still get to flip a coin for the pokemon power, right? and if heads, Gengar remains active, right?

That should work fine, since Gengar's attack doesn't stipulate that a prevented switch negates anything. [ September 27, 2002, 08:28 PM: Message edited by: yoshi1001 ]

Yeah, just what the world needs, a psychic type Donphan! This card works great in draft where it is easier for your opponent to have 3 or less prizes. I also like the fact that your opponent does not get to switch to their choice of Pokemon, but you do.
This Gengar is like Donphan, but only better!
Be interesting to see if it is utilized in Psychic Decks, or or if Dark Gengar continues to see all of the play.
Currently working on a Dark Raichu, Expedition Gengar combo. Kind of nasty when you think about it. Anyone ever heard of Strength Charm? Debating between Fossil Gengar and Expedition Gengar. Let me know what you think.
See you on the boards.

I'd say Donphan is better than Gengar. Donphan's Rapid Spin does 10 more damage and it's only a stage 1, therefore much easier to get out.

Yes, I've seen Strength Charm -- and the ruling on it. Dark Raichu and --- PICHU! Especially Pichu! Beware, all you Baby Pokemon! Mwahahaha.
Anyway -- Legendary/Fossil Gengar is more useful -- no condition on your opponents number of prizes! [ October 02, 2002, 10:41 AM: Message edited by: RabidRaichu ]
