I would say yes, because the defending has just had to be attacked through an attack named perish song which definitely happened in your example.

As long as the Defender was put to Sleep by Misdrevus' attack one turn and was Asleep when Perish Song is used the next turn, it doesn't matter if it was the same Misdrevus or even if it woke up, went to the Bench, got Gusted back up and put to sleep again by "Sleep! Sleep!" or LC Drowzee or whatever, Perish Song will KO it.

Unless they flip heads on focus band, then they get 10 HP remaing from an attack that doesnt do damge ![[Confused]](../tcg/confused.gif)

Well, according to the wording of Focus Band, yeah.

Is that so? Because the rule in principle is that attacks refer to the same Pokémon, and the "new" Misdreavus is not. Nothing directly related in the Compendium though, the closest being this: * When a Pokemon evolves or devolves it is NO longer considered to be the same Pokemon. So if Misdreavus used Night Eyes against a Squirtle last turn and then that Squirtle evolves to Wartortle, Misdreavus could NOT use Perish song (even if Wartortle was asleep) as it is NOT the same Pokemon! The target of the Perish Song must be the same Pokémon that was hit with Night Eyes. The Night Eyes attack and the Perish Song attack need not come from the same Misdreavus. (One Misdreavus could use Night Eyes, while a different Misdreavus used Perish Song.)
So, if a Squirtle were hit with Night Eyes and then evolved to Wartortle before Perish Song was used, then Perish Song would do nothing.
But, if the Misdreavus that used Night Eyes on Squirtle were knocked out, and a different Misdreavus used Perish Song on the same Squirtle (NOT Wartortle!) next turn, the Squirtle would be knocked out.

well if you want to use perish song to knockout pokemon, only attack with night eyes first then perish song
1st night eyes 2nd if the defending pokemon still asleep with night eyes then you can use perish song now
*note anything other than night eyes (eg sleep powder)which put the defending pokmeon to sleep will not trigger perish song!

Sorry Jess. That's not true. It has to have been attacked by Night Eyes. It has to be Asleep. It doesn't have to still be asleep from the Perish Song.

My fave about this card is team multiplayer value, player 1, Night Eyes, player 2 Perish Song and KO. Me and my Partner are planing to build decks around this. Him, Misdreavus and Dark Gengar, Me Misdreavus/Hypno(AQ)/Dodrio. It is a gaurenteed prize every turn starting on turn 3.

Well now, with Team play, one would have to define "last turn". Hmmm.

From Conpendium
quote: == PERISH SONG (Misdreavus - Neo: Revelation Expansion)
Q. In Team Play, if both I and my partner have Misdreavus, can we have Player 1 do "Night Eyes" and Player 2 do "Perish Song" for the KO (providing the opponent is still asleep)? Or does Player 1 have to do the "Perish Song" in order for it to work? A. Yes, that nasty little trick works. (May 23, 2002 WotC Chat, Q297)
