Survey Says...(drumroll)...Narrow Gym!
That's right, Narrow Gym! First, lets break it down.
quote: No player may have more than 4 Pokemon on his or her Bench. When this card is played, if a player has 5 Pokemon on his or her Bench, that player chooses 1 of them and returns it and all cards attatched to it to his or her hand. (If both players have to return a Pokemon, your opponent returns a Pokemon first.)
Did you catch the devine goodness of this card?
Let's say that you have a LC Charizard with 20 HP left, and you're up against a Dark Blastoise with no damage. Charizard has 4 fire energy and Dark Blastoise has 5 Water Energy. The Active Stadium is Rocket's Hideout. You have 5 Pokemon on your bench.
It is your turn. You draw Narrow Gym. To some, it would mean the loss of the game. But those people are oblivious to this card's power. Immediately, you retreat Charizard. Then, you play Narrow Gym. Playing it in this situation would have 2 good effects. One, it would remove Rocket's Hideout, returning Dark Blastoise's HP to 70. But also, since you have 5 Pokemon on your bench, you have the oppontunity to use a free Super Scoop Up without a coin flip on one of your Pokemon! And who will you choose? Unless there's an electic type...
So, here's the summary.
1) Removes a Stadium Card from play (this is nothing special, really)
2) Free Super Scoop Up without a coin flip
3) Rarity = Common
4) Legal in Modified
I only see one downside here: Your opponent can also use #2 to his advantage, but that has never happened to me, as I wait until just the right time to play it.

Way back when, Narrow Gym was my default gym when no other gym would fit the deck.

No it isn't. Narrow Gym was released in Gym: Heroes and has not been reprinted. It is NOT Modified Format legal.
