We haven't played Team Pokemon in almost a year. We are trying to get reacquainted with the rules regarding Pokemon Powers. We would appreciate any succinct summary of the rules regarding Pokemon Powers--or a reference to where we can find such a summary.
Is it correct that continuous Pokemon Powers, which are generally now called PokeBodies, must be assigned: to either you or your partner; or to one of the opponents? Meanwhile, Pokemon Powers that are used "during your turn" can be used each turn on who ever one wishes?
For example, Legendary Dodrio's Retreat Aid must be permanently assigned to you or your partner. Meanwhile, Aquapolis Espeon's "Energy Return" can be used for both you and your partner each turn--since it says "as often as you'd like". [ May 29, 2003, 08:14 PM: Message edited by: Crobat1 ]

Correct. Though with Poké-Powers can only be used by the person who played the Pokémon. So in your example, if you played AQ Espeon, only you get to use it's Power - your partner cannot. You do get to return an energy card from one of your Pokémon to your hand and you can return an energy card from your partner's Pokémon to your partner's hand, but your partner cannot use it on his/her turn.

I'm not sure I agree BJJ. I believe that if I have AQ Espeon, I can use it on either myself or my partner for that turn (I think once you define "you" for that card, that's the only person you can use the power on).
And when you say "Poke-Powers" do you mean the "Poke-Powers" as defined from Expedition on or tectiore general "Pokemon Power"?

Espeon would be ruled just like LC Venusaur and LC Alakazam. Its "As often as you like during your turn you may do ______" meansthat you can choose you or your oponent each time you activate it. So if it is your Espeon, you may pick up as many energy as you want from your Pokemon, then do the same for your teammate all in the same turn. I believe it works this way because each time you move 1 energy to your hand you are re-activating its power, and can redirect the "you" to your teamate.

quote: Poké-Power: Energy Return As often as you like during your turn (before your attack), choose an Energy card attached to 1 of your Pokémon and return it to your hand. This power can’t be used if Espeon is affected by a Special Condition.
Since the Power states "as often as you like" the Power can be "turned on" to be used. When "turned on" you get to target either yourself or your partner. Much like Alakazam's Damage Swap.
"Poké-Powers" are Poké-Powers, a subset of Pokémon Powers. Not to be confused with "Pokémon Power".
