I like using cards like Copycat and Prof. Oak. They say you have to shuffle or discard your hand, but can you use these affects if you don't have anymore cards in your hand?

Yes, because you still have a hand of zero cards. You always have a hand.

So if it says shuffle your hand into your deck......

then with zero cards in hand, you place the zero cards on top of your deck, shuffle, etc.....

You still have to shuffle

You still have to shuffle

I follow your logic--but, I believe the ruling has been that when you have a hand of no cards, you do not shuffle. It's great when your last two cards are Oracle and Profesor Elm. You can play Oracle and then the top 2 cards become part of your new hand.

Sorry no such rule exists. If the card states "shuffle your hand into your deck" a hand of 0 still causes you to shuffle your deck because you must shuffle the 0 cards in your hand into your deck.
