It needs some way to heal after attacking (in order to us its power and to garrantee its next attack). So, you need to provide someway to heal it every turn. Here's what I've found in playtesting it:

1. An E-Butterfree and E-Vileplume combo is not too bad (although it cuts into the trainer/energy card-count by using two stage-2's).

2. It's a bit flip-reliant. For example, that Pokemon you Double Gusted might not get KO'd.

3. E-Vileplume's attack is VERY, VERY efficient. Furthermore, it's very well suited for Full Heal energy and Recycle energy. And, it can work well in multi-color decks.

4. An E-Vileplume swarm (3-4 in-play) is very annoying for your opponent. You're practically garranteed to poison them every turn when swarming. Don't forget, poison turns off the Pokemon Powers.

I personally like it as one of the best Pokemon in Expedition. It's definately a decent Pokemon for Modified format. It requires a combination of cards to use effectively (it can't stand-alone), but if you're a lucky flipper, it's tourney worthy.

I love the e-card vileplume! Turn 2 with some breeders you can do up to 100 damage if you're lucky enough to get 4 heads. Just play full heal
and light ledian. or you can ko your opponents main guy, leave vileplume up active, have an elekid and another vileplume on your bench, and use their powers to ko your opponents small pokemon. then when your opponent gets out another big guy use your full heal and do 100 damage all over again! amazing isn't it? I use it in my current deck with Light Ledian to great affect. Miracle Berry also helps when you use Vileplume. But the triple-threat combo in my deck is when I use Vileplume's Poison Pollen, then use Light Ledian's Flash Touch to bring up Promo Snorlax... ah, good times.
