its attack reads:

Rocket Tackle.- Dark Blastoise does 10 damage to it self. flip a coin. if heads, prevent all damage done to Dark Blastoise during your oponents next turn.(any other effects of attacks still happen.)

if you check closly it says attacks, so does this mean i can still do something like Elekids playfull punch to hurt it?

thanks

Yes Playful Punch puts a hurting on Dark Blastoise when it gets heads on Rocket Tackle as it is a Pokémon Power and not an attack.

I am afraid I disagree. Since it says "all damage", that means all damage, not just attacks. The effects of attacks phrase is there just to remind you that "all damage" does not include effects of attacks.

In other words, "all damage" means all damage.

As a player of Dark Blastoise, i have to know the absolute answer to this question. I agree with Postdog2Gengar. It just states "all damage". Nothing stating just damage from attacks. I say it prevents ALL damage taken during the opponents next turn.

From the oracle:

quote:
{W}{C}{C} Rocket Tackle Dark Blastoise does 10 damage to itself. Flip a coin. If heads, prevent all damage done to Dark Blastoise during your opponent’s next turn. (Any other effects of attacks still happen.) 40
Well, there definitely is some wiggle room. Let's look at the Japanese translation by Edo:

quote:
WCC: Rocket Tackle: 40
Effect: This Pokemon does 10 damage to itself. Flip a coin.
If heads, during your opponent's next turn, prevent all
damage done to this Pokemon. (Any other effects of attacks
still happen.)

Not very helpful. Keep in mind that the only way to do damage in such a manner other than by attacks is digger. So, the question becomes, should the card have said "(Any other effects of attacks, powers, trainers, and energy still happen.)?" I don't know. There's nothing in the compendium or master rules to indicate what to do.

It says prevent all damage, so prevent all damage!!! If there isnt a ruling on D Blasty, try Chansey (Base) or oter Pokemon with atttacks that say prevent all damage. A sneaky trick is to use a Pokemon that places counters, since thsi is an effect, not doing damage.

WEll, to further answer this question, Let me quote what Playful Punch does:
quote:
Pokemon Power: Playful Punch. Once during your turn (before your attack) , you may flip a coin. If heads, do 20 damage to your opponent's Active Pokemon. (Apply Weakness and Resistance.) Either way, this ends your turn. This power can't be used if Elekid is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.
So, from looking at this, I would say that Dark Blastoise does not recieve damage from Elekid's Playful Punch
