I am trying to make a modified meganium deck but I can't think of pokemon that combo well with him in the modified format. So far, the only one I could think of is rocket's scyther. Could you please tell me some other good combos that are either basic or stage one? Also, if you know where I could find a good modified meganium deck please tell me. Thanks! [Angel]

Yeah theres heracross from neo4,beedrill neo2, and possibly crobat. Its possible to have two stage 2's in a deck and do good. I hope that helps!

Well, with Meganium you can try Disc. Scyther. To get rid of Steelix, give Porygon Rocket a chance

JUMPLUFF!

Hehe...just kidding.

Umm...the Promo Scyther is awesome with Meganium...so is dark Muk.

If it's unlimited, try base koffing and jungle venomoth.

Dark Muk would be a cool combo. ROcket's Scyther would be nice too.

For modified play, the new promo Scther that is coming out in the session of Pokemon league is a great combo for meganium. His attack is two grass energy for 40 damage with the statement that you cannot attack next turn. Evolving or benching ends this effect. This card has one retreat cost.

This would be a great combo with meganium. Be sure to use recycle energy to pay the retreat cost or use double gust/warp point to get around the attack limitation effect.

Actually, Pokeplayer, me being a Meg. player myself resent that. The fact that I can do 60 damage (average) from Scyther's (Disc.) attack and NOT have to pay any retreat cost is better...IMO. Not to mention the lucrative opportunity to do even more damage [Evil Smirk] . [Big Grin] Oh well, to each his own, I guess. =/

I thought Dis. Scyther had one retreat? [Confused]

Anyway, the Promo and Dis. are both great. Steelix is by far the worst enemy of Meganium, though. Try to K.O. it when it's an Onix, but I know that isn't always posible, so try one of these.

Unown M
The most obvious. I hate having a Pichu-weak benchwarmer, but it's okay. Watch out for Murkow, too.

NR Shuckle
They never see it coming. This will be even better in the new Modifed if there's no more FHE. 20 damage at the end of every turn will take him down sooner or later. The main problem, again, is Pichu.

Promo Smeargle
Wait til they load it with Metal then change it to Psychic. [Devilish] My personal fav since Pichu won't eat it. Just save room for other Smeargles to deal with Big Fire...

It does, but I was referring to the "rocket's training gym" problem that people had...
