In the compendium I read that the power can be used multiple times during a turn if the opponent retreats more than once.

So, for example, if my opponent has an active Tyrogue and a Cleffa on the Bench and I active Spikes, the baby in the bench (Cleffa) became active and 10 damage.
If my opponents retreats Cleffa to attempt an attack with Tyrogue, spikes can be activate another time.
Is it right? If not, could I have an example?

Here's a good example.

I have 3 Forretress on my bench.

My opponent has a Tyranitar up front. He plays a Double Gust.

I choose his Cleffa and he chooses my Elekid.

His Cleffa takes 30 damage from Spikes (it's cumulative) and is KO'd. I take a prize.

Here's the fun part.

He now has to replace the active Pokemon and he brings up Tyrogue.

Guess what. Tyrogue takes 30 damage from Spikes. I take another prize.

Now he's mad and he brings the Tyranitar back up. Oops, 30 more damage to the T-Tar.

I love playing Forretress and my opponent's Double Gust is my best friend. It lets me decide who gets 30 damage.
