I was recently thinking of some new decks and came across Cloyster. Grannted Shellder kinda bites, but what basic doesn't in some way. So I went through my binder to find a compliment hitter. I don't like the backup hitter aspect because eventually, a Poke has to get powered up at sometime. It may be 1 out of 6 games, but it happens. Then I came across Charizard #39 or LC Ninetails. I think that these tandems could work. I also think that Magmar from Genesis could work if you evolve from Magby with a focus band attached. I also think that Cloyster is a viable option for the Poliwrath decks. So what do you think. Could Cloyster be a viable contender even with his Steel weakness? LMK if there is a tandem you thought of. [ November 21, 2002, 06:44 AM: Message edited by: CmonIWanaPLaYa ]

I have been experimenting with Cloyster lately and have found it to be pretty strong but, like Kabutops, pretty luck dependant. Averaging 40 per attack for three E isn't bad at all. Comboing it with fire to fight weakness is obviously needed as Steelix is still used heavily in my metagame. Here's a link to a recent deck I posted with Cloyster that will say a bit on how I'd do this.

Good luck with this mollusk.
