On the Mareep Card it has "Thundershock - flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokemon is now Paralyzed." There are 10 damage points. My question if it is TAILS are the DAMAGE points still assessed? [Confused]

Any time damage is printed over on the side (in this case 10) the damge is done irregardless.

The only time this is not true is when it specifically says in text this attack does nothing, not even damage.

so as long as the attack does not have the above fraise, the attack damage written to the side is done, even if the effect doesnt happen.
