Can you lay a rainbow energy, call it grass, transfer it to politoed, using BS venusaur, and call it water and use it's third attack that moves two water to the benched pokemon and reattach the two rainbow to venusaur?

That should work. Rainbow counts as water and grass, so you should be able to double transfer the energy. Of course, it requires 2 stage 2s and 2 special energy cards.

And it doesn't have to be "called" anything. It always is all of those colors.

You may want to remind your opponent as you are doing it, but its not mandetory. You should at least name the Power you are activating.
