Same reason someone would pay $1,000+ for a rare coin. It's rare, and you probably won't get a second chance at it. Welcome to the world of collecting.

Yup, most people just don't realize how serious people are about collecting. It can be from any hobby from football cards, coin collecting, to Pokemon, Magic, and more!! If you love the game as much as to where you have a strong passion about trying to "Collect them All", then such collectors will spend what it takes to get that coin or card, or some other rare item. As I stated, if they ever had a super rare Charizard deck box, I would be bidding up around $2,000 since, as Squirtle puts it, we apparently happen to just have money laying around....

Congrats again Kaga!! This auction was fun and interesting! Oh, and the seller emailed me saying they have another deck box, and gave me a 2nd chance offer of $425.... I might have to pass on the offer though. Any other takers out there? :thumb:

But you know what would suck for Chairman Kaga? Well, it is apparent this guy has at least one more deck box. What if he has tons of them making them much less rare :lol:!

Anyway, congrats on the win. That was pretty hardcore man!
 
Funny how if the deck boxes had arrived on time no one would care. If it had been another deckbox that had gotten late, that one would be going for 450 now. $450 Zangoose deck :eek:
 
I don't know. I think it helps that this was also the coolest looking deckbox ever.

but all the deckboxes look great when they first come out, it just seems that it looks cooler because of its massive rarity, its the same with the poketour `99 pikachu, now i got one, pfft:thumb:
