Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Empoleon MD

The big question, however: Which Prinplup to use? Do we want
WC: 30 snipe
WWC: 60-10

Or do we want

W: spread 10
WW: 40 snipe?

Either one has it's benefits...but I'm guessing the old one's better here.

i still like the D/P one better as you can start spreading quicker and to a degree more effectively, as far as my idea goes.

Yep the DP Prinplup is still BEAST!!! I like the DP5 Piplup better though, well kinda! But, Empoleon is SO versatile. I have ran him with EVERYTHING( Quagsire SW, Mismagius, Banette SW, Sableye CG, etc.), I mean He is the ORIGINAL Damage Spreader in the DP sets. I just Hate when people say he is dead, and the turn around and see the New one and start jumping on the bandwagon with wanting to play him again. I mean the NEW one is AWESOME, but the DP one is still SO playable, especially with Cessation and WPs, which is MY style!!! I Cant quit using him, he really makes playing this game fun for me. I mean he isnt as Powerful as when he first came out, but he can still dish it out. So, he might end being the BDIF, but even though I am a Rogue Deck Builder/Player, I am going to Still play him, because I have been playing him since people FORGOT about him. I just cant wait for the NEW one to come out, I have been waiting for a LONG time!!!

Given experiments with Swampert decks, you'll most likely end up ignoring the stage one :/ If you do use the stage 1's attacks, it's mostly to bide time while you search for the stage 2.

Prinplup doesn't have enough HP to be useful after like, turn 3. So why are we taking time with WC 30 snipe, when Empoleon does the same thing but to two pokemon? The second attack really should NOT be used either. Finally, the old Prinplup's 10 damage spread can put Gardevoir and the like to 100 HP, which is perfect for Empoleon MD's second attack.

Therefore, Prinplup DP wins. Well, I'd think so, in any case. I still don't think only ten damage is quite enough to be worth it for several turns, especially when you can use a high HP pokemon, place as many damage counters, but put ANYTHING (but Torterra and LV.X Eevee-lutions if Espeon's in play) into KO range.

I saw about Dusknoir tearing it up but with 30 to 2 then that means things are ready for KOs and if running Str. Charm/Plus Power with the new Supporter that is suppose to add 20 while in play then don't need 5 on bench to reach a 100+ to finish off most every Pokemon at the moment.

The ultimate Empoleon list would look like this:

4-2-4 Empoleon MD
2-2 Gyarados MT
2-2 Octillary MT
3 Pachirisu GE
2-2 Claydol
(maybe) 1-1 Mismagius
It looks like a little bit too much pokemon, but Emp needs em!

Yeah, but Gyarados benefits from the possible 10 to all. Why the Dusknoir? I know it's good, but only really useful once. After that, your opponent will be watching their benches

Empoleon does NOT combo with other cards that spread damage. Two cards doing the same thing isnt a combo. Just play Empoleon with a good starter and Claydol. + some tech.
