Anthony: First use spell check. Next, GG is soooo beatable, yet it just keeps WINNING and it keeps winning EVERYTHING. Give me a break people. Driftloom is the next rogue idea after Meganium d/Mismagius, Clefable, all these things I and many others have tried and failed. Can Empoleon/Bronzong beat it? Yeah, in like a 45+ minute game.

There's also a lot more than 15-20 people that would be happy if we didn't have Gardy around. There wouldn't be nearly 400 posts on this topic if there were "a few" people that don't like it.

Obviously i never think anything I say will actually happen on a message board. It was a suggestion. I stated a bunch of legitimate reasons why the deck is bad for the format and has been all season. The biggest is time, which could and probably should have been fixed a long time ago.

This isn't a thread where a bunch of unqualified players should brag about how their rogue beats GG. If it's so freaking good, then why aren't all of you playing in Worlds? And keep in mind this is coming from one of the very few players who actually earned his invite without GG.

Clearly, if EVERYONE IS PLAYING PLOX like all of you say, then wouldn't that mean more people like Plox then hate it? Majority rules, end of story.

1) And yet, people who have won scholorship money and other things from tournies are complaining about the deck.
2) Maybe because people want to win? They don't have to like the deck if they just want to win. :/

Again, wrong. A lot of VERY GOOD GG players I know that even qualified for Worlds with the deck would have liked to see it gone! Magnechu got T4 here and doesn't even like the deck.

So what, that doesn't change your statement that "everyone" will be playing it.

I dislike GG because it ruins the rest of the format.
It's alright to play because it has so many options, but only in a tournament. In test games it's soooo boring because every new deck needs to play against GG 10+ times. It sucks being the guy playing GG that much.

This format would be SO cool without GG in it, having Empoleon, Eevees, Torterra, Beedrill, Magmortar, Garchomp, etc all viable.

On that note, GG is still my first choice for Worlds.

And the fact that you would need to play 5/7 matches in swiss against GG and then get luck enough to play it in T32/T16/T8/T4/T2. If you play against almost anything else that resembles an Arch your going to have issues. I was considering Banette or a variantion to my list at states, but I couldn't bring myself to take that high of a risk. I feel that Worlds IS the event to do that in, because the reward is high, but that is a bit too mcuh of a risk, IMO.

On a side note, I was doing the math and the most ridiculous thing is if we have a T32 in all age groups and 128 players exactly, 3 4-3's in each age group will manage to make it in top cut. If my breakdown is correct.

GG isnt the only Banette can beat. People act like the deck cant beat anything else. Arithmetic is a Banette variant and did well at regionals and even won one. Banette can do the job against the field,I mean it dosent have a favorable matchup against Magmortar or Empoleon, but that dosent mean it cant beat them.

I would take the risk cuz its your last shot, might as well go all or nothing, thats what you do when you play any deck really.

Everyone hates the deck so much that I don't think it will be played at Worlds. I don't even think that Mikey will play it at Worlds even though he Top4ed with it at Nats. People seem to forget the ~50 European players that will be there to try their rogues out.

Max. 10% of European players will be playing Gardevoir because they think they've made the ultimate metagame counter. After last year's Worlds and Danish Flygon ex deck, European players will be even more encouraged not to netdeck their decks from Gym/TopCut.

GG won't won Masters, you didn't hear it here first.

People will always play what wins, I personally like the deck but not in format where I only play agaisnt 2 or 3 other decks.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

I played it at Nats out of 9 rounds 4 Empoleon, 4 Gardevoir, 1 Leafeon.

I won a League tournament yesterday with the deck.
Other than the Mirror I played, the deck didn't take any skill.

And before anyone says "oh, well it's a league tournament, that doesn't mean anything", I'll have it be stated that the Mirror I beat was ranked 6th in the World a year or so ago.
A lot of randoms, but I played most of the good players.

GG is too good, but that doesn't warrant any of the cards a ban.

I'm still wondering why people don't try out Beedril against G&G. :/

In the modified tourney on the Friday before nats I went 6-2 with Beedril, and did very well with it at the 2 BRds I went to before that. It can beat G&G, and many of the other decks out in the format.

I wonder which European countries this refers to. Last year's Flygon ex success was AWESOME, but in last year's format something like that was actually possible. :(

I'll continue to believe that creating a "ultimate metagame counter" is simply impossible in this metagame, with a card pool that has been known since May, and with the biggest tournament in the world - US Nats - having had nearly 1000 people not figure it out. If someone proves me wrong at Worlds, I'll be delighted, BUT I can't see how there's a combination of cards in our current pool that's strong enough to bring down the format, yet hasn't been thought of yet by any player at all the European HP-MD Nats, and none of the nearly 1000 players at US Nats either.

Still, if it's really true that many Europeans will play non-GG decks at Worlds (effective metagame counters or not), I guess that means that less people will meet 80 - 90 % Gardevoir in Swiss, and at least the first two rounds or so of the topcut will have a variety of decks. :D

I didn't say that. You took my comment out of context. I said that it has HARD matchups against the other top decks.

Banette (just Banette not Arthimetic or BanBliss) is very good. However all 3 of those decks will have serious issue with Empoleon, Torterra, BanBliss and Leafy/Mag. While GG is in Banette's favor the other decks that will be really good are 100% not. I just don't see playing Banette a smart choice. If I wanted to go 3-4 or 2-5 I would play Banette. I would realistically have to play 5 GG's to make cut. While that is possible, I'd rather not take that chance.

As for it being my last chance, this is the 3rd straight Wolrds I have qualified for. I would be shocked if it was my last as well.

You wont go 2-5 or 3-4 with Banette if you know how to play the deck well. At nats in modified, I played against Magleaf/Empoleon and Toterra and only lost to Toterra since Toterra Lv.X is monsterous and can kill my shuppets b4 setting up. I went 6-2 and played against 4 GG/1 Super Karp/2 Empoleon/1 Maglutions and lost to GG(Adam Garcia) and Toterralutions. Each game then I only lost by 1 prize.

Also when I said last shot,I mean your last shot in the season to win a big tournment.

Banette can beat those deck,i know its not in my favor,if I play against a skilled player in a mirror with GG it might not be in my favor then also.

The thing Im saying is,either way the field is going to be saturated with Gardilade/PLOX,I'll take that chance either way since Im taking a chance with any other deck when I know its not a favorable matchup against Gardilade/PLOX.

Thats all I was saying.

Drew your past the point of having to prove yourself to anyone, you don't need respond to stuff like that.

Thanks Jay, I appriciate that. I also did win a States with Banette so I should know what can and can't beat Banette. :thumb::biggrin::cool:
