I heard about Planet-x last night and it says december 21st 2012 its coming in orbit between Mars and Earth!!! No one knows they effect it will have. They poles might switch,earth might stop rotating,and volcanic erruptions.

This kind of makes me think about the new millenium. People were freaking out about that and nothing happened. It's the same thing with the so called "apocalypse." I don't believe anything is going to happen.
 
Well, I have got a book about how the Maya had a different way of seeing time, months and years.
And according to them, somewhere in December 2012, the Mayan Calender 'resets' and starts at day 0 in the year 0.
 
I seriously doubt that the world would end on such a nice neat date as that. lol

The world WILL not end, nothing is going to happen. >_>

Its kind of like Y2K.(When the century turned over and everybody thought everything that was ran by a computer would'nt work anymore.)Nothing is going to happen.:wink:

Wasen't it Nostrodamus who originally predicted this? He also predicted, and was correct about Hitler. Things like this really bring it right down to being a person of faith, or a person of science. This won't happen though. And if it does, I wanna see zombies, not volcanoes. Y'know, I wanna go down honorably with a shotgun in hand, and stuff like that.
 
2012 has has alot to do with "the end of the world" and the "apocalypse" and stuff like that, but i have a feeling it won't happen, and i know that if the world ends, it won't be a planet that comes into our orbit that will end us all
 
Actually, you all have a point. This is a lot like y2k. The only differeence being that the 2012 thing is a couple hundred(or more) years old.
 
I sereiously don't like all of the talk about the apocalypse happening. Its almost 100% identical to y2k, except about what afstandopleren said, Which makes me wonder. However, that doesn't change my opinion about it not going to happen. The "apocalypse" will not happen, and theroetically IMO the world will never end.
 
I think that those religion thingies are WAY over the top.

The Maya people actually made very good predictions to, all with the help of their calendar.
It's quite intresting to see such 'primitive'people have such a complicated and precise way of telling time and such.

EDIT: The prediction from the Mayans about the year Zero. I'm not 100% sure but I believe it is more about people entering a new state of mind, rather than a Apocalyps.

Why are peple so keen on doom thinking?

Actually Scientist have said that in about 5 billion years from now the Sun will have exhausted all of its fuel and swell so large that it will consume the inner planets then shirnk to less then the size it is today. It's just the star cycle, Wiki it. So there is an end to the world its just 5 billion years from now.
