Every human gone 2012???????

Here's what will happen;

The 21st of December 2012 will be approaching. 50% of people will be running around like headless chooks, worrying that the world is about to end. The other 50% will continue their lives as usual.


Eventually, the big day will come...21/12/12. People will say their last goodbyes, and specific religious groups will get together to pray and do whatever they do. Then suddenly, it will happen;

IT WILL BECOME THE 22nd!

2 weeks later everyone will still be alive, the world will still be around, nothing will be different.



As a matter of fact, I am willing to say;


IF THE WORLD ENDS IN 2012, I WILL PERSONALLY GIVE EVERYBODY HERE $1,000,000.

For the %..... I am quite sure that a lot of big religions and groups (Jehovah & such) that might make up more than 50% of the world pop., will run around like crazy. The amount of sane people seems really neglactable seen how the world is ruled today by money & religion/faith.

And no, I am not trying to offend anyone by saying this. If so, I'm sorry I guess.
But the fact stays that those 2 things have the biggest impact on how we live our lives.

Sorry guys, had to quote Jim Morrison and REM when I was reading all this in this forum. I don't think anything will happen and if it did, not much we can do about it. I just want my son, who's 6 now, to have a happy life, no matter when it's gonna end!

Obama as the antichrist? come on!!! That one is rich. If this were so, the world wouldn't end in 2012, it would be 2015, simply because the antichrist brings of 7 years of prosperity before it all goes bad, so our bibles say.

IMO, if any thing will destory this planet, it'll be the human race! It may take a while, but look at us, we kill what we don't understand, we don't live in harmony woth our surroundings, we mold it to suit us, and man, have we discovered some very scary and dangerous things (Nukes, Bioweapons, etc.) If we keep going like that, we'll make ourselves extinct!

Actually Scientist have said that in about 5 billion years from now the Sun will have exhausted all of its fuel and swell so large that it will consume the inner planets then shirnk to less then the size it is today. It's just the star cycle, Wiki it. So there is an end to the world its just 5 billion years from now.

ya man it will turn into a black dwarf and we will have no more light. I learned that in science class


However our technology in the next 5 billion years should advance so much taht we can survive the darkness

That said, I know politics don't really belong on the gym, and not in this thread either, soooo...

Back on topic:

I don't think that all the humans are supposed to be gone by 2012, all I know about that date (12/12/12) is that ALL the planets in our solar system will line up for a short period of time and that is the day the Mayan Calendar ends.

Now, there are several things that could happen:

As post #1 explained, we could have Volcanic Eruptions ALL over the earth, the poles could switch, etc.

Gravity is affected by planets who knows what could happen, earth could stop rotating...

"The moon is the master of the tides." The earth could have a great flood.

The thing is, WE DON'T KNOW what will happen, and we will have to wait to find out. It's that simple.

Volcano's:
Not likely: that the whole earth crust would collapse and the earth starts 'bleeding' magma to destroy us all. Get my point?

What is likely: There is a huge volcano under Yellow Stone park that is said to be quite ready to erupt. It's the closest apocalyptic thing in this scenario that might actually be happening.

Polarity switch:
Why it's not likely: It won't effect too much to be catastrophic. Explanation below.

Reason: Don't know what happens though, but the Polarity has been switched several times in the last thousands of years that humans exist and guess what, we are still alive today! (Seen that on Discovery.)

Gravity:
I don't know much about that so I can't give any good explanation or reasons why or what could happen.

Moon's Flood:

Not likely: The moon is already further away from use then the moment the moon came actually in existence.

What does can happen: The moon is being 'flung' away by Earths gravity so the only disaster that would cause is that there will be no more tides and such. Though, we are speaking about 1 or 2 thousand years before that happens.

Actually, the moon is moving closer and closer to Earth, not farther away. And I didn't mean that we would have a great flood from the moon. I was saying the moon's gravity causes tides. What if all the planets line up? That will screw with gravity a bit I think. The poles have switched before, many times in fact, that is just something to point out that may happen...

Your point about the Volcano: That may be true, but this "apocalypse" is supposed to be world-wide, I doubt the Volcano in Yellow Stone will have that great of an eruption!!

I say the Flood is most likely next to Gravity being messed up. The rest are just good guesses, although I don't know, "Anything is possible."
