Except the experiance of going to Origins, woops.
I think that travel wasn't the issue. I have no problem as I am sure most of the Northeastern do traveling a extra 200/300 via plane. It does make it a bit harder to drive, which would raise the price since now we would have to take a plane. But for those who take a plane Columbus and St. Louis is most likely only about a 30 minute or so longer flight I would think. I might be wrong. The time change is a bit annoying, but it isn't the worst thing and the cost of flight will be small, if any. I think the part I am most disappointed in is that there were other things if I so choosed to do instead of going to do just Pokemon. I understand that isn't POP problem as they are only worried about how their game does, but you should still want your player base to be an overally happy group. I have other thoughts but for now I will keep them to myself.

You assume FAR too much. Like others have said, it could be on the same scale as pokemon 10th anaversity or even the old STS. This move will definately give pokemon crediblity on it's own and also the possibility of move, fun, events (sorry, I don't find watching a squad of zombies or hearing obnoxious RPG guys fun).A large portion of the pople who went to nationals in previous years went only because it was at origins, or in other words, that they werent just going for pokemon nationals. But with this move, what will people like that do now? They wont go to nationals.
For us and many other people it doesn't save any money. Instead of spending maybe $150 on gas for the whole trip, we'd now have to pay at least $244 per plane ticket.Oh MY GOODNESS!
WOOT CHAW and all of those other phrases!
If the event is, um, free, we will be breaking EVERY attendance record out there!
I can give anyone/everyone the skinny on less expensive hotels, great ideas on what to do, and everything else.
Trust me, this move ROCKS!
Take the $80 you were going to spend on badges, per kid, and have a couple of really nice meals, buy a box of cards from your local league store, pay for your hotel!!!
WOW!
