ensignmerlin: While I agree with you, I must also side with the statement made by sar 86. To me, it does seem a bit like the contest rules changed halfway through and this was decided almost on a whim by the Head Judge. If a TCG Judge were to change something as major as the rules of the game midway through a tournament, this would throw the whole thing off.
The same could be said for the contest. I had a very nice build for one of the starters and a couple legendaries (won't say which ones; still holding onto the design), but opted for the Magnemite build since I wasn't allowed to use it. However, I see your side in that you made a legal card, the rules changed to make YOUR specific card illegal, and then your card was accepted after bans were put in place. Personally, I'm fine with this, but i can see why others were miffed.
Sar86's problem comes from the judging system in general which I will now quote for all to read.
-------------------------
Here is what you will be judged on:
How Balanced the Card is-10 Points
Creativeness-10 Points
How Neat the Card Is-10 Points
Originality-20 Points
If anyone needs help for me to further explain these characteristics, please don't hesitate to PM me or any of the judges.
------------------------
From my standpoint, I see no explicit difference between Creativeness and Originality and this is where sar86 took the hit. I honestly still don't understand the difference or why some people lost points here and it wasn't really explained either (how did I lose one point in neatness again?). A clarification before next round would be nice. And How Neat the Card Is either needs to be defined as how cool it would be in a deck or grammar/formatting issues. It could be read as both.
All in all, please clarify things thoroughly before next round. yes, some of us will still have questions. But the amount of issues in this round has me on the verge of dropping at the end of next round if things don't clear up.
