Rainbow is back! This is one of the better energys out there. It helps with decks that need to hurt themselves like Dusknoir. This also helps with decks running multiple types of energys.

In decks that it is useful: 8/10
In decks that is not as useful: 3.7/10

I must say, its good to see this old friend return lol

Tho it has a slight drawback it helps if u need damage
a.k.a. Dusknoir, Primape, etc... This is also a good energy
to have if you have 2 or more types in your deck.

I say 8/10

thank you they brought back rainbow energy
they hav the old holo ones forsell at out game store
they look really nice
i give this a 10/10.00000000000
lol

Kind of dumb getting damage, but is a good energy nonetheless in multiple type deck, like eeveelution.

9/10 because it is the best multiple energy card that provides one energy but it loses a point for the damage counter

Awesome card, but side-effect for placing damage on your intended pkmn.
9.5 Limited/Unlimited/Modified
Since it's back, does that mean we can play the previous version?

This card works really well with cards that require to hurt themsleves to win (Delcatty PT, Dusknoir SF etc). Though, if you just want it to provide any energy once, use Multi Energy.

In self damaging decks: 9.5/10
In other decks: 5/10

Ah...good old Rainbow Energy, welcome back to the format friend.

For those unenlightened, Rainbow Energy acts as any type of Energy, all for just putting 1 damage counter on the Pokemon it's being attached to. It is infinitely more flexible than, say, Multi, because you can attach as many as you like to a Pokemon, and they won't turn into :colorless.

Modified - 8/10 (Some decks can make great use of this, especially if they run different Energy needs)
Limited - 10/10 (Acts as any energy, and odds are you're using 2+ different Energy)
Unlimited - 7/10 (Not as powerful as DRE, but still great)

Pretty good for Poke'mon that need multiple types of energy for their attacks, like Regigas and Salamence. And like everyone else has stated, it's good for decks that need to hurt themselves.

Super card, but vs Ampahros decks you cant attach it to your pokemon which have poke-power !

7,5 / 10 because I think that Ampharos will be played by many players.

This card brings to Pokemon what dual lands bring to Magic, An energy that fixes your energy types. If this could be tutored for it would be the Best Card ever.

10/10. One of the best energies of all time.

Finally, we got this card back. Finally, multi-colored decks are more playable again. So this is great in any deck that needs different energy types or runs some techs that need them. 10 damage isn't too bad, you can even turn this to your advantage in some decks. The other drawback is that it's not searchable, but for that purpuse you still have some basic energy in your deck.

Modified: 9/10 - there are many decks that don't need it, but also a lot where it really helps

Can't wait until/if we get DRE back... Still, Rainbow will fill the void due to its stackability.
8/10
We'll never get DRE back. This card has been made for the EX-format and not for the DP-format. That's why it has been one of the most broken modified cards ever during last season.

Good point, but never say never. You don't know what could happen in a few months time.

Granted, you're probably right, and it'll be seen as too devastating to return DRE to this format.

I could see DRE return only if it was somehow restricted to one per deck (unique.)

Double Rainbow Energy - Star?

As to the topic at hand Rainbow Energy I find myself in agreement with the majority.

The utility of providing one of ANY energy type far outweighs 1 damage counter and can be very useful combined with some pokemon.

It can even be mixed in with Multi Energy in decks that do not require two of one type energy to power the attack.
