Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Pokemon Video Game Championship Series - World Championship Discussion

I never played in a Pokemon Video Game Tourney Before

I mostly played with my friends and the TCG with my friends

I am hoping my Yugioh Team can start up a Pokemon bracnch soon and we start going to video game tourneys

Do you all have any advice for some one going to their first pokemon video game tourney

The reason they do it is because you can't bread you things like Zapdos and Latios. Its a way to still make them playable like any other Pokemon IV wise but its a lot harder because you don't really have control over the IVs.

Well, you can still SR for timed IVs on them, ever see that one video where you can catch a Timid Latios with 31 Spe and HP Ground 70 with what, 2:02 time?

yeah- the emerald RNG has been broken wide open. Eggs, Wild Pokemon, Legendarys...everything.
if you want a timid latios (or anything that is stationary) 31/31/27/31/29/31 you have to wait 78126.26 Seconds (or 21.70 hours)

it realy just depends on how long you are willing to wait for that perfect pokemon.

so do you have to have lv 50 pokemon or can you have lv 51 and up and they will make the pokemon lv 50

there is no level ajusting. if the pokemon is level 51-100 it cannot be used.
there are 2 reasons for this:
  1. There is a tactal advantage for lower level pokemon, and that would be ruined for auto-level ajusting.
  2. the DS games to not have the option to auto-ajust the pokemon to 50. only pokemon battle revolution can

well 2. is wrong play diamond when you go to the battle tower and you have a lv 70 pokemon like heatran it will let you play it only it will change to lv 50 till the match or match's trust me

I think what he's saying is that, while it DOES do that for Battle Tower, it won't for the video games.

I personally can't answer your question because I'm a noob.

well, seeing how on the PUI website it says:
go-pokemon.com said:
2-on-2 Double Cup format, with no Pokémon allowed to exceed level 50.

seeing how the battle tower does not have a "Double Cup" rule set, that would prove to reason that all battles are upstairs in a pokemon center.

you may want read up on what PUI has said here:

If it is anything like last year then it will stay at 4 pokemon.
And it's about time they brought this to Europe To bad you can you can only use lv50. oh well no leaf blading leafeons what a shame. I am guessing Scizor will be pretty big this year, if you don' know why then look at the moves it can do.

It has not been posted yet. patience is a virtue, so just be patient.

i love how EVERY flying type got Heat Wave...Most notably Zapdos.

Here's a question I've been pondering over for some time now. How did one of the New York finalists have a metagross with meteor mash? Since metagross shouldn't learn that till 53. If anyone has an answer I'd love to here it.

Metang learns Meteor Mash at level 48; Metang can start evolving at level 45, but doesn't have to.

@The above:

I love that trick, and am very glad that I used it.

It can also be used to get Sky Uppercut on a level 50 blaziken (then you can tutor it for Blaze kick).

I believe its the oldest moveset trick in the book. Playing through gen 1 or 2 and not evolving your starter past second stage can have its advantages.

i love how the ONLY way to get hydro pump on a starmie before level 50 is to raise staryu to level 46 in Ru/Sa/Em/Fr/Lg ONLY. in DPPt staryu does not get it until 55.

Yet another reason to keep emerald around. as if there where not enough as is :)

More reasons to keep emerald:

IV Man for stat estimates on low-leveled things.
Only GBA version with everstone nature inheriting and magma armor/flame body incubating.
Battle Frontier (enough said)
Only GBA version where berry crushing, mini-games, pokéblock making, mixing records, andcontests are available.
Only GBA version to get many G/S monsters.
Compatible with all 'Ticket' events.

Hmm... what else is there?

Oh right, the most reliable cloning system ever!!!! The only method thus far in pokémon's existence that does not require you to flip the switch while saving (Turning it off at the right moment while uploading to GTS permits for 4th gen cloning) Save a copy to 3rd gen, and send the other up to 4th gen. YAY!

cloning is not the reason to keep emerald. it is the BROKEN random number generator. being able to get a 31/31/23/31/31/31 egg after 15 seconds EVERY TIME is freaking amazing.

Yeah, Emerald's PRNG is completely messed up, and enables you to get many flawless spreads, such as Quint23 (what ultimatedra just posted, along with other great spreads for legenderies such as 29/2/29/29/31/31.

^ Scizor is going to be pretty obvious so you'll have to watch out for stuff like that'll OHKO it.

Right now tho I'm liking something like.....:

Garchomp @ King's Rock

Next turn Chomp double teams again followed with a swap of Togekiss with T-tar activating sand viel.Chomp and t-tar attack next turn ,t-tar prob dies.Something comes in and psychs up the double team and does a bit of sweeping on its own along with chomp. The rest plays by ear.
