Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Glen Burnie, Maryland 3-21-09

Lot of fun, got to play people that I rarely ever play or see often, awesome beef noodle soup for lunch, and on the way home I got to see a brush fire on the side of a major highway. I'll post some of my pics later in the day.

lol...Five rounds with a top sixteen? Is that even possible given TOM?

Just following SuperWooper's example

Can't wait for the video of me at table 5 in round 5, and then me in top cut. That doesn't happen to me very often

Apparently it is. It was very weird having 64 people and only 5 rounds.

Under the "2008-2009 Pokémon Organized Play Tournament Operation Procedures" section 2.3.5. which is "Determining the Number of Swiss and Single Elimination Rounds Needed"

If there are 64 player per age division then you may either do 5 or 6 swiss rounds and top 16,8,4,or 2.

"The total number of players per age division, in both Age Separated and Age Modified,
determines the Single Elimination cut, which should be a maximum of 25% of the total
number of players in each age division, with large events having a maximum cut of
12.5%. However, because the number of players can vary, the Single Elimination cut can
vary from 25% to as low as 6%."

While I have the cards to build it, I have no practice using it. Besides, Hurricane Punch is a silly attack

I said I was better at playing flippy decks than you, and you didn't believe me.:cool:
Because it's not true . You need to play more

Silly Timmy. T4 at States > T8 at States. Even you should know that.

I know, I know! But I also need to judge more, and there's only so many tournaments.:frown:

Why then, O wise and powerful Timothy didn't you, in your infinite wisdom, play Machamp?

Quoted for funnyness.

Apparently, 4x Roseannes, 4x Cyrus, 4x PokeTurn, 4x Power Spray, 4x Energy Gain is the new Holon Engine.

Turn one (going second) Energy gain on Dialga G is sooooooo good!

Slops to Dave for going to Delaware.
I like to think of it as him giving huge amounts of credence to our event by going to a place where "there's no competition".

Thanks. I presume you were the NJ player that made Top 16 in the Masters? I really like the Gengar and thought that was a great deck.

If you can top cut with Cradily, anything is possible.

Props:
-Parents who drive the Juniors to tournaments.
-Staff for not stepping on Juniors.
-All the staff for running a tight ship. Very good starting/finishing time.
-Torterra
-ShadowCard’s deck
-Nicholas’ deck. Getting to see his list was definitely one of the most epic deck-checking moments in my life.
-Newbie kits prepared by Lucario EX
-64 players in Masters!
-High number of players who came with their decklists prepared by computer, the day before.
-The realization that if you play a deck like Machamp enough times, it has to work eventually.
-Not having to check the compendium for anything.
-Kenton for running Absol in his Pokémon G deck.
-No drops
-127 players!
-My #1 fan making fake cards for me
-Staff that brought food

Slops
-No ixidor89 or Nuge
-I have more than 0 HP
-Yeah, I don’t really feel like giving slops
