Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

CaC Survivor: Team Dorapion

Well, I'm glad to work with all of y'all.

As for our team name, I rather like the sound of Dorapion and the image of drapion that comes with it. Drapion is a fairly imposing Pokemon, after all. (In the look of the Pokemon, if not the abilities of the card.) Plus, the Japanese name sounds like the funny names used for the Survivor camps on the show, so it fits well, in my mind.

My recommendation for our team's theme is *drum rolls* Pokemon of the night. Nocturnal Pokemon and what a trainer might see/catch on a night-time romp through the woods of the various regions. Mechanics and Stadiums can be based on night vs day, with Pokemon that have night-time mechanics being the ones in the video-game that can be found only at night. Noctowl, Umbreon, Mismagius, Honchkrow, Crobat, etc. would obviously be night-time pokemon. Cherrim, Espeon, Chatot, etc would be day-time pokemon.

Well, those are my suggestions.

I kinda like that idea. But what kind of mechanics can we specifically base on night and day? Just wondering...

But I can already tell that this is gonna be the superior team... The Rox brothers alone will make this team amazing..

The name really doesn't matter to me, along with the mascot.

I figured that, for deciding on the theme, it wasn't necessary for us to create a whole new mechanic. At least not yet. As a theme, night vs day could easily be incorporated into names of powers and attacks, pokemon choice, etc.

Also, we could build upon the foundation that the current format already has for night vs day (Moonlight Stadium vs Dawn Stadium and Umbreon vs Espeon.) Clearly, daytime is expected to bring greater health in the form of hp while nighttime is expected to make it easier to retreat/move around. Individual card mechanics can build from those concepts.

I'm sure that our creative minds can think of numerous new ways to handle this theme.

Honchkrow mirrors Misdreavious. Espeon mirrors Umbreon. Absol mirrors Skarmory.

Just thought mirrors would be an important thing to consider.

We probably shouldn't start carving out who makes what Pokemon until we know what the challenges are.

Celebi would be a natural choice as a 'day' pokemon, though, if that helps.

Okay, here's a list of night/day opposite Pokémon off the top of my head.

Cherrim
Solrock / Lunatone
Ho-oh / Lugia
Skarmory / Absol
Celebi / Jurachi
Espeon / Umbreon
Beautifly / Dustox
Ludicolo / Shiftry
Xatu / Noctowl

Any more?

Shaymin/Giratina
Sunflora/Shiftree (Probably not the best mirror there)
Fearow/Noctowl
Pidgeot/Crobat

Not all of the night and day pokemon are going to have great mirror-matches (after all, every Ghost pokemon is a night-based pokemon.) But, should we really expect them all to?

Arcanine/Houndoom
Gorebyss/Huntail

...can't think of anything else atm.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:
