Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

CaC Survivor: Team Dorapion

No, we shouldn't expect for everyone to have a mirror, but I like having mirror Pokémon that mirror each other, so those certain Pokémon can be mirrors.

You must design 9 cards, one for each type in the PTCG. One of them must introduce a new mechanic to the game.

Well, here's our Challenge. I guess we probably should come up with that Night/Day mechanic, then. Any ideas on how to manage that?

[Editted in suggestion: Perhaps our set could have Pokemon with a built-in PokeBody-like effect that, when the Pokemon is Active, will trigger the Powers, Bodies, and Attack-effects of various Pokemon. Also, you could have effects that take place only if neither pokemon has one of those effects. For example: 'This attack can only be used if neither Active Pokemon is a Night Pokemon.']

[DEL]There are nine of us, and only eight types...hmmm...I suppose we could hand out a type to each of us, with one person left over in an 'editor' type position, proofreading and coordinating the mechanic design. [/DEL]

If that's the way it'll be, I think I'd like to create the Grass type, Sunflora. Unless someone objects...

Oh...well...then feel free, afstandopleren. Except there are still 9 types...so you'd have to select one specific type to 'claim' anyway.

We still need to agree on a mechanic with enough time to build it into our card-set.

Well night/day is a good idea, but so far it isn't set in stone, but do you mean some one to make the cards or for the cards themselves? I'm new to this soooo I'm sorry if I'm putting a damper on the pool-party.

Well, we need to decide on the mechanic as a team. But, after that, it only makes sense to divide the 9 types of pokemon amongst our nine team-members and each create one card for the challenge. One of each type, remember. Since the Challenge deadline is noon on Wednesday, April 1st (GMT-7,) we really need to put a rush on the mechanic so that everyone has time to create their card.

Yes sir! -salutes- If no one minds I'll take :fire:. fire types are my passion. And were do we post our cards? And one more thing you didn't explain to me what the mechanic is, or if you did then I didn't get it.

Do we want to give them a prefix? (e.g. Night Umbreon, Day Espeon)

Do we want to give the mirrors a Poke-body that deals with night/day aspects... (Solarbeam/Night Shade does less damage while there are 2 or more night/day pokemon in play)

We need to figure out the mechanics before anyone submits their card. Please, make these original, as well. Please, no copies of your other creations, no matter how well they fit. The other team may do that, but should be better then that.

The mechanic hasn't been explained because one has not been decided on, yet. I'm still hoping one of the card-creating geniuses on our team will let some of their brilliance shine down on us lesser beings so that we may benefit from his/her greatness.

For now, we're just creating the cards and we'll work the 'new mechanic' into as many of our cards as possible once it is decided on. (Maybe something that affects Stadiums? Maybe giving a type to Stadiums? If all the Stadiums in our set have "Night" or "Daylight" types, we can have powers and attack-effects triggered by that. I'm still grasping at straws here...especially since adding a prefix to Pokemon is hardly a "new" mechanic.)

As for where we post the cards, we work on them here, in our 'camp.' We'll post the final product in the main-thread when we're all done. (At least, that's how I interpreted Bippa201's instructions from Post#1 of his Challenge thread.) [Edit: My bad. The challenge says we post the final product in our own threads.]

For organizational purposes, here is what people have requested so far:
:fire: [Empolionx54] Ninetales (Night-theme)
:grass: [Godzfirefly] Sunflora (Day-theme)
:water: [Xuii2-the-Cleric] Kingdra (allegedly Day-theme)
:fighting: [Charmander Rox] Solrock (Day-theme)
:lightning [C-U Elite (by default)]
:psychic: [NidoPrince] Ariados (Night-theme)
:colorless [Meditite Rox] Noctowl (Night-theme)
:dark: [afstandopleren] Shiftry (Night-theme)
:metal: [shinygyarados] Magneton (Day/Night Neutral)

Okay. -takes deep breath-
Night/Day is our concept.

And heres some stuff I came up with.

PokePower: Solar Power
PokeBody: Lunar Scales
Flame Fur

attacks: Night Slash
Nasty Plot
Spring Dance (that could be for something like Bellosom, or Leafeon)
Sun Dash
Dark Slam

Rough Draft for Sunflora (Comments from team members would be appreciated):

Sunflora Lv. 45 -80hp- [G]
Stage 1: Evolves from Sunkern
Sunflora is skipping through a sunlit meadow with face uplifted to a bright, blue sky. The petals of its face sparkle with reflected sunlight.

PokePower ~ Linked Roots
Discard a basic [G] energy from Sunflora to use this power. Until the end of your turn, treat each of your Pokemon as though they had two [G] energy provided, in addition to any already provided, for the purpose of paying the energy cost of attacks. You may not use more than one Linked Roots power in a turn. This power can't be used if Sunflora is affected by a Special Condition.

[G][G] Cheerful Dance
Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Player cannot attack, retreat, or use any PokePowers until the end of your next turn.

[G][G][G][G] Overcharged Solarbeam (60)
Flip two coins. If both coins are heads, this attack does 60 damage + 40 damage. If both coins are tails, this attack does 40 damage to Sunflora.

W - [F]+30
R- [W]-20
RC-[C][C]

Sunflora gladly shares its solar power with its fellow meadow-dwellers. Sometimes it gets carried away.

Kingdra Lv.54 hp130 :water:
Stage 2 evolves from Seadra

:water: HydroBlast 20+
Discard as many :water: energys as you like
from your hand. This attack does 20+ 10 more
damage for each energy discarded in this way.
(You may not do more then 40 damage in this way)

:water::colorless Tidal Current 40
This attack does 10 damage to 1 of your opponents
pokemon, for each energy in your discard. (Shuffle
all :water: energy into your deck.)
