^^^POtF Gible and Gabite would like a word with you lol.
Burn them? Are you crazy?
Im pretty sure that Japan had a couple years without rotations.
Clear said:except Gengar is the one of the only evolution line that does not suck in MD-on.
Wouldn't Machamp defeat the purpose of them making new and cool SP pokemon if they were to rotate GE? Bad marketing if you ask me. We all know how much companies love making money, so it would be smart to make sure that these cool new pokemon were to be kept safe with unown G so little kids would keep buying packs to try to get the new SP's. Just a thought coming from a 14 year old, so what would I know.
I am pretty sure there will be a rotation of some sort, not doing so will be interesting.
With a rotation = no unown G, snorunt, Starters lv x.
No rotation = Claydol prices rise, unown g = $3 card (lol)
Aren't you standing here complaining all day long about how much you hate Machamp? But I guess Machamp sucks, like you just said.
Then there's stuff like Kingdra, the various Eeveelutions (Leafeon and Glaceon Lv. X are MD), Flygon, Ampharos, Tyranitar, Dusknoir...
They might be weakened right now in the DP-on format compared to some of the stuff running around - for example, the fast SP decks - but if the SP decks lose Unown G, they'll have a worse matchup against Machamp. Meaning they'll see less play, Machamp might increase for a while, and people will run more evolutions to compensate, format balances out over time.
It wouldn't defeat the purpose, it'd be a built-in balancing factor in the format. It'd mean they could creep up the power of SP pokemon a bit and not have to worry about them overpowering the format because they know there's a strong "silver bullet" ready to beat the tar out of them if something goes awry.
Not that I hope they do that, because it would be a bad idea, but it's one example of what they can do because a check is already in place.
gambit said:Why is no one saying Dusknoir? Did Dusknoir just lose it's flair or something? I still believe Dusknoir is better than Gengar in some aspects... Also the format without Unown G will be like this... Toxitank, Machamp, Dusknoir, Gengar.
Machamp does suck, it ruins the so-called "Spirit of the Game" that you all hold so dear; then again, how would you know? In order to evolve, you need to go through the process of being basic first. But you all know that already.
Machamp's problem does not end with take out. Hurricane Punch is a huge issue, if Machamp does not have Hurricane Punch or if it cost 3, I wouldn't be complaining about it.
All of those, especially Flygon, are slow and dull and will get whacked by anything fast, whether it is SP or Machamp. Machamp will most likely lose to Gengar.
Balance? You have got to be joking. You mean a format where you either play Toxitank, Machamp or Gengar called "balance"?
Like I said, would you say the same thing if Unown G is gone? Have you even tried it? How would you know it is true if you have not tried?
Dusknoir's attack is crazy, yeah, but formats have always been defined by the ability to KO stuff, and Dusknoir straight up loses to SF Tyranitar because Dusk can't OHKO TTar and TTar OHKOs it with ease. TTar can also stand up to Gengar with ease.
But you alarmists forgot about TTar, huh?
Look man I play Duskmoir and I know that the reason I loose to T-tar is not because of resistance or weakness, although it does hurt my matchup, what kills me is unown g. Unown G is the only reason behind a Dusknoir deck having a dismal performance against any deck. When played properly Weakness is only fuel to the fire for Dusknoir.
The format right now isn't even as bad as it was some months ago when it was basically Kingdra vs. The World.
i think GE will be the last set to be either accepted in to the next rotation or rotated as DP-GE
i think the only card that will tell whether GE is rotated or not is a reprint of Rare candy if it is reprinted in the set before rotation then its most likely that GE will be rotated but if no reprints for rare candy then i highly doubt that we will have DP-GE rotation because even though the advent of basic pokemon, rare candies will always be a part of every season like it has since EX sets
