man now i really wanna get my local store to do one....hey does anyone know how to get the stuff for one of these prereleases? I ask cause i'm still reading the compendium for the professor test cause I'm hoping if I can get this test passed then I can get my store to start us as a serious league here.

I believe only Premier Tournament Organizers or PTOs can run Pre-Releases. Depending on which state you live in, there is one or a few people mainly in charge of running events in your area.

As a professor, you can operate a Pokemon League, but you'll need to contact your local PTO in order to try to schedule a Pre-Release in your area.

The theme decks are nice this time around, and TPCi did a great job with how they are packaged. A big improvement of past ones. :thumb:

man i wanna goto one bad the store i play at here said they wouldn't have till it got as big as yugioh and i almost laughed at them so i'm not prolly not gonna get the sleeves which is why i'd prolly goto one

He's speaking to us. I just KNOW it..... (j/k)

Back on Topic...

It's an order that you can't send back.
If you have small attendance at your prereleases, it wouldn't necessarily be wise for the PTO to order up an excess of Theme deck cases.

Will the theme deck even count towards PREMIER EVENT play (and POP points/credit) now ?

^What, you mean like Japan's been doing since HGSS? XD No, surely not! This shall never work!

In seriousness, I think it would compete with the tin niche. I mean, if you've got 2 Theme Decks and 2 tins (Most times it's 3 tins) then there's only 1-2 Primes you can only get through packs. Not sure that would be a good marketing strategy.

If theme decks included a Prime, they'd have to raise the price of them to $20, because there'd be very little downside to getting a tin over a theme deck with the theme deck being $3 less.

I think the changes they have made has definitely make theme decks a better purchase. The pack itself drives the theme deck's cost down below $10, and they've increased the rares, and lowered the basic energy, making it's value higher at the same time.

Since PokePop gave a run down of one of the decks, I thought it would be fair to do a run down of the other deck as well.

Featured Stage 1 rare x2
basic x4

Rare Stage2 x1
Stage1 x 2
Basic x2

Rare Stage 1 x1
Basic x2

Stage1 x2
Basic x2

Rare Stage2 x1
Stage1 x 2
Basic x2

Stage1 x2
Basic x2

Basic x2

decent new trainer x2
supporter x2
common trainer x2
common trainer x2
stadium x1
PokePop's "Very Good new Supporter x2"
Useable new supporter x2

Basic energy x10
Basic energy x8

So again, in this deck there's 5 rares as well.

Every PTO CAN order them, but not all PTO's bother. You should get in touch with yours and see if they will be offering them.

Many PTOs do a raffle (I do). They are a fun way to reward your player base with items like 1 theme deck per location, a japanese deck box, dice, damage counter bags (from Japan), sleeves, packs, plushes, etc. I am always on the lookout for items I can pick up to use as raffles at tourneys.

please move to my league.

Yeah, Keith, can I borrow you for when I do that too? LOL. There are lots of PTO's who are like that guys. However, just remember that if your PTO doesn't do that, it's not that they are a bad PTO, but that they are not required to do so. TPCi can't mandate that every PTO is that cool. However it's nice if you happen to know a good PTO. This prerelease has given us PTO's extra reason to be more generous (in my opinion).

Drive up from GA. I run a PR in Cleveland TN too! Just north of Chattanooga. In fact, that PR is this saturday!

PTOs are not required to add anything. The PRs are great value already. Plus, you get to play TCG for a few hours. Always FUN! Since I love japanese items, it is cheaper to trade/buy in bulk (when you get a chance). I like to share with the players in the area.

I always have door prizes.
It brings some extra excitement

for my PRs after Worlds, I always give out some Worlds items.
