:lol:pokemon is serious business
Unlocking this.
It should not have been locked.
I gave a thanks to SD'mom's post that got in under the lock, but I'd like to give it a dozen thanks.
It is exactly why people are upset.
This is hilarious! He is a legend in my book.
Props to him
Slops to P!P
just ban this guy already and lets get back to talking about why going first rocks, why sableye sucked, and complain more about flipping formats .....
@ Rocketman
My post and opinion was subjective to the matter we were talking about?
Comparing it to shoplifting is just....dumb....
sorry but everyone understands shoplifting is stealing, there is no subjective matter that can change the fact that taking something that isn't yours is stealing.
In his case there were alot more factors to consider...
Okay, I know you're upset, but please do not bash 6P. Adam, the administrator over there, works very hard to keep the site up and running, and it is full of free content and discussion forums just like pokegym.
The reasoning behind underground is that top players can take the time to write analytical and lengthy articles that hope to help players take an extra step. They are not mandated to win. I think there are varying degrees of dedication to Pokemon, and underground is dedicated to those who really want to put a lot more time and effort into becoming a top player than the average player, like me, who is playing for fun.
In any case, lets keep on track and not bash a neighboring website. That's not cool.
Well, actually, that happens, but it's considered "legal". The Austrian National Champion is a German player who has a second residence in Austria but doesn't live there. He doesn't play Pokémon except for Nationals, but in Austria the competition is low enough for him to win.so if it's unfair for a player to come in and take another country's nats when they have NO right to play there,
Still, faking your identity is cheating. I don't know how cheaters who win big tournaments are treated, but this is actually the same, no more, no less.Win or loose, they affect the outcome.
That's exactly why I don't like that points system. Of course its easy to check, but also easy to abuse.but already I've heard stories of professors falsifying their involvement in leagues or tournaments
Did any or have any PP/POP employees ever played in a Professor Cup?
Yes. Every year. That's one of the reasons why the Cup has never been a sanctioned tournament. We view our participation as part of the "thank you" that this tournament is. After all, how often do folks get to sit down and share a game with the folks in charge?
One more win and I think I would have made top cut. This effects more in the cup than just top cut. I encourage Pokemon to go after this fellow with not just a lifetime ban, but more. I also know some of the people that were in top cut and could have won. People need to learn that for every decision they make, there is a consequence that matters. A lifetime ban obviously does not matter to this person. Perhaps he should buy us all Kindles. Grrrrrr.
Note, I do not blame the staff at all. There is only just so much you can do without a linked database available at the event. At some point you have to rely upon personal integrity. I enjoyed the Professor Cup greatly - it was in fact my favorite event. If my name had not been on the list I would have been devastated and I would have been very appreciative of anything they could do to to get my name on the roster - including extending me the trust due me as a Professor and Judge. The staff at the PC was great and they moved the event along better than any other event I participated in - I hope that Pokemon does NOT blame staff and instead recognizes that they need more resources.
