Pokemon TCGO run completely unprofessionally

Play through the trainer challenge. If you beat enough people with one deck, (I think 12), you get that deck's cards for actual deckbuilding.

That still doesn't make for a viable deck. I'll just hope that no tournaments start before red collection comes out, because i'll definitely buy a box or two of that set.

The code cards were only about 25 cents each during the limited beta. I imagine that now that they're included in EVERY pack, you could get a respectable stack of the things for a buck.

I haven't seen them lower than .50$ anything lower than that i would buy a bunch of.

EDIT: wait, are there any packs that don't come with them? or do every sings emerging powers pack have one?

Every single emerging powers pack has a code in them.

EP *pack* codes won't be usable until 8/31 though. EP theme deck codes are redeemable now, since they've been officially released...

Thanks :3
Im going to ask my friend who got top 32 if i could buy them from him :p

Another question, is the online mode working right now? because i can't seem to connect. It might be my internet connection (im on vacation), but it's still in beta. when is it coming out of beta?

I just logged in with no problems I guess its your connection.

The TCGO is the most awesome thing to ever happen to this game. I'm hoping they start online tournaments soon where you can win physical prizes. This would give players from all around the USA (or world) a fair shake. Maybe the future world champion lives in Wyoming or North Dakota but they can't win an invite with the way the system is right now because they'd have to travel hundreds of miles to the nearest Pokemon premier event.

I think online tourneys would eliminate the need for judges. After all the game knows if you've already played an Energy this turn, a supporter, etc, so it's impossible to cheat. Everyone sitting at their personal computer means no venue needed so P!P saves on venue costs. Win-win situation for everyone.

I've played a few games so far today and haven't encountered any major problems. The only annoying thing is the long loading time every time you open the TCGO.

stop. we've been waiting for this since pokemon tcg for gameboy.

saying that it is "unprofessional" that you didn't get more free stuff just isn't true.

the pokemon company has missed out on thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars in revenue by not coming out with this earlier. be glad they actually decided to make the game and put money into it.

But it turns out they are run completely unprofessionally...

Sorry you missed the boat or got slagged, but the folks running this are actually the most professional people -- you'll believe it when they're done. Explosion is a nice move, but...

Be patient, guys. They are still working out some glitches. Pretty soon it's going to be the best thing ever to happen to the game.

Totally. Hoping for more spend on the programming so 1) it reaches its potential 2) sooner.

I would not like then to replace physical tournaments with online ones.

Their message is clear: its not a replacement, but an enhancement. No one should have any worries on that score.

yeah, when i found out it was flash i threw up a little in my mouth

You and Steve Jobs. But, HTML5 isn't there yet and the other alternative is Java. Some of my most respected colleagues are Java programmers, but the hassles of making that work for something like this is just nuts. Flash is the only tool for the job, at the moment, but Jobs is right, "Adobe is a great company but they're lazy." Some of the recent heat about Flash crashing on every platform and all the security holes is making them change their ways in 2011 like similar heat forced Microsoft to change in 2001.

BTW, updated your flash lately? The guys that install Flash exploits on web sites are checking your Flash version even if you're not.
Check if you need an update, its super easy from the good folks at Mozilla (Firefox NOT required). http://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/

All 3 points correct, IMO. This is the right direction.

This was in response to people complaining on the forums, as those people don't have the resources to investigate the issue. Fill out a ticket at support.pokemon.com and the issue will get looked at.

When ExoByte shows up and gives a tip like this, well he doesn't waste his time deflecting criticism; this is the real thing to do. Any specific problems or seriously thought out input ought to go there, rather than just a forum post where it will be drowned in the whine.

I just hope they fix the trading area, its a mess really, almost as bad as the global trade station thing on the ds.
I also played a game today and it was lagging really badly :(

IMO this thing needs a ton of work but its definitly going somewhere and a step in the right direction =)

I agree with yoshi on both points. Not trying to bash the people working on this, I was though taken aback when i saw it was flash. Already im getting extreme mouse lag whenever i try and play or trade for an extended time. Also the trading system is very difficult to use.

There are a lot of things you can do when the program lags:
- Disable sound
- Disable foil animation
- Disable attack / power animation
- Right click into flash player and set quality to low

This worked for me like a charm.
