Oh I'm very well aware, but there have been others years with minimal impact as well.

It is more than possible. If our championship takes place a a week before the US then many US players will be influenced by the Canadian decks. The years when we did not have an impact were, obviously, the years when we were on the same or the following weekend. I was referring to one specific year where we definitely had a huge influence.

haha no, just a misunderstanding. I meant there have also been years where the Canadian nationals were before the American nationals, and had little to no impact on their metagame.

Who knows, maybe Entei will make another showing?

2011 CDN July 2nd-----US July 9th
2012 Both July 1st

I didn't realize last year was the first year they ran simultaneously.

2007 had Golem/Exploud and MSN-BC in the finals. I pretty sure that didn't impact the states at all.

2009 had Flygon vs Luxray Infernape SP. Both of which were popular before hand.

And of course 2011 had ZPS vs Yanmega/Kingdra
