Worlds 2008 Location Discussion

Baltimore, Maryland could be a lot of fun....good city, with a lot of stuff really close to it!

We shall see. We shall see.

Yay Baltimore! How I would love a 40 minute drive to worlds. And there is no lack of hotels in Baltimore. A couple of new ones are being built next to Camdem Yards, which is only a few blocks from the convention center. DC would work too.

New York City would be awesome, but WAY above the budget.

When I talked to Dave last spring during the Euro Prof Cup, he said that the costs for having an event like Worlds in NYC was just not possibly because of the cost for the hotels etc.

I agree though, Florida would be GREAT because that's only 5 hours from Europe, so I might actually go without an invite xD

Houston 2008: or does Houston also suffer from hurricanes/ tornados/ weather.

If NY is expensive then London is out too.

Hawaii.... cheaper than NYC?! *gags*
I bet there would be much less complaining about location if it was held in NY instead of there this year. :nonono:

Then again that conversation was last year (?) when they never thought of spending the big $. There's a chance for anything now.

Poke-Cruise... all the way!

Maybe on RCCL? Freedom and Liberty of the Seas are the two largest cruise ships in the world, and both sail out of Miami (I think...).

I'd go. Even if there was no LCQ I'd go!

Europe? PLEASE? Mr Liesik, if you're reading, i can confirm that I would marry you if you held it in London  Thats London, ENGLAND of course

On a serious note- Atlantic City or Philadelphia perhaps? I'm pretty much consigned to the fact of a US Worlds *sigh*, but at least put it on the East Coast, closer to that big ol hunk o land we call eu-rope-z.

Worlds 09- Iraq?

How about a Poke-Cruise?

Put all of the worlds competitors on an airplane and have them playout the tournament in-flight.

You can call it "Pokemon on a Plane", staring Samuel L. Jackson.

Worlds will probably stay in the U.S. because Pokemon USA as I understand is a U.S. based company.

Then again, the Poke-Cruise sounds quite delicious...

Put. Worlds. In. A. Non-US. Location.

You know, since it is called Worlds...

Remember, we have the WORLD SERIES, yet only American teams get to play in it.

But I know I wouldn't mind a non-US location.

Harrison Hot Springs in Canada?

I know, never happen!

Chicago would be a great place to hold the event, access to alot of great restaurants, hotels, and places to visit....although I know this will probably never ever happen, its always nice to dream....
