A team that steals signs is likely to have better plays on offense than one that doesn't.:thumb:
 
So, the punishment was served. I personally think it was too light of a punishment. Bill B. was fined 500,000 and if the Pats make the playoffs the lose a 2008 1st round pick, if the dont they lose a 2nd and 3rd round pick.

My theory is BB cooked up a scheme to put a cameraman to film the Jets defense cooridnater, have the NFL confiscate it, determine that they broke the rules, everyone bashes them and kicks them aside, therefore releasing all pressure that the pats previously had, making it easier for them to win a SB.

Also, when Goodell hands out a penalty that low, it makes the whole camera thing decrease in importance, doesn't it?
 
Taylor...get a CLUE! The Pats cheated...caught red handed with the videotape in poss of Pats employee.

Yes, every team photographs the plays ON THE FIELD and reviews them. The Pats went one step much further in that they were videoing the DEF Co-ords signals into the Defense and then reviewing them IN GAME! No wonder they made such good halftime "adjustments".

IF the Dolphins did the same thing last year, SABAN should be punished too....OOPS...he is at Alabama now.

Bill BeliCHEAT deserves to be suspended. If Pac man Jones can get a year off for ZERO convictions, why does BeliCHEAT get off for being caught red handed?? Maybe the reason Mangini KNEW to turn in the Pats is because he CHEATED right alongside BeliCHEAT when he was his asst coach.

The NFL made it a rule to ban videotaping the coaches on the other sideline. So, dont say ALL the teams do it, bc if they did, the NFL or the other teams can go and have the TAPE confiscated, just like the Jets did!

Taylor: It was just announced on ESPN about 30 mins ago (look at Drew's post for time...he was 1st here with it). The Commish fined BeliCHEAT 500 grand personally, the Pats 250K and the loss of either a 1st rd '08 draft choice (if the Pats make playoffs this season) OR a 2nd and 3rd (if they dont make the playoffs). We know the Pats will make the playoffs this yr...so kiss that 1st rounder buh-bye!

As an update to those who were whining about the 'Fins doing the same thing last year...the Commish sent out a memo to all teams and coaches before THIS season that said....do not do this anymore, we will CRACK YA if you do it!

Here's the problem. The Pats will still have a 1st rounder this year. Where will the 1st rounder that they lost go to? The team with the 1st pick gets the Pats pick? That's absurd! And, if those picks are just lost, that's ALSO absurd! Those picks shouldn't just be "lost". They need to "go somewhere". Where is up for debate...
 
the rule they are accused of breaking says no videotapeing equipment on the field the staff in question was in the stands
