Is Nascar A Sport

You have to get up pretty early in the morning to get me with this one. Even saturday morning. And stupid (IMO) as the sport is, Nascar is a big sport with alot of people.
 
I don't particularlly like it but, I do respect as a sport because those drivers has the equivalent of
30 pounds on there arms when there going very fast and holding that four hours its extremely physical
But I think its boring .
 
It is techincally a sport. It's a motor sport. A form of sport.

Many people dismiss it as not a sport and many others think its boring. It's just people's opinions. But it's sad that it has been stereotyped as a sport that is boring and going around in circles.

To me, it's one of my favorite sports. The chase for the championship begins sunday and will be 10 races to see who is the new champion.

NASCAR has the largest fanbase in the United States. More than football or baseball or basketball. It has the largest seating capacity to. Races can hold 160,000 people in one race. NASCAR is the most fan friendly sport out there too. You can by a pitpass and have a high chance of meeting your favorite driver and getting an autograph. You haven't seen anything until you've actually attended a race.
 
They drive from 150-200 mph. Well usually sports have to be something pysical. So meaning like you have to work and like you have to sweat. When your going over 180 mph the temperture in the car is wicked hot. Thats why they drink tons of gatorade/powerade/etc in the car. Also its over usually 250 laps. So your gonna be driving for at least 2+ hours.
 
nascar is a sport. it's one of the fastest growing sports there is. you have to be somewhat athletic to drive a race car. you dont see overweight out of shape race car drivers, do you.
 
Yeah that car is a burning furnace and the pit crew has tp be really athletic and have high agility to go from the wall to the car, change two tires and come back within 15 seconds.

I don't think that it is a very good sport. But if water polo is a sport, so is racing/nascar.

–noun 1. an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.

I guess that it is.

Forget the dictionary! What does it know!! Nascar really defeats the true non dictionary definition of sports which getting physical and competitive even if it gets you a penalty! Sides' you wanna realy dictionary/encyclopedia use wikipedia it has the answer to everything.

left turns don't take skill, changing a tire does
 
Let's see if any old schmuck can hold a car in a turn at 180 MPH. Probably not. Your car is an athlete itself. You need to configure your car so it can make those left turns not too sharp or not too wide. Those guys are getting paid millions every race. Isn't that better than your job right now? If any of you can do it then go race.
